  The animal market is an awesome place. This is where you come to see authentic Ecuador. Get here around 7am on Saturday morning and watch the native Otavaloans wheel and deal!

  Good place to watch the locals trade animals Also tourists can buy a chicken or pigs, even cows to bring back home (if your backpack is suitable/shipping costs may apply) !! Highly recommend 👍🏽

  Fue la primera vez que visité este mercado, hacew falta mucha más organizacion y mejor gestión por parte las autoridades. El turista extranjero no se siente a gusto con el tipo de trato que dan a los animalos ni tampoco con la poca salubridad existente en el sitio. Son aspectos que deben mejorar

  Would have gotten 5 stars of there were llamas.
  Traditional animal market in Otavalo, only open Saturday mornings. Rare to see tourists, but if you want a deal on a guinea pig this is your place.
