We had great expectations for this trip that unfortunately were not met. We arrived at the office and we specifically asked whether it will be very windy as my wife is easily becoming very sick. We had paid for the deposit but we did not want to risk it if the weather was not good. However the employ told us that it would be very nice. Even though I always want to believe what people say I am sure that she knew that the weather would have been so bad!! It was just a lie in order for us to pay the rest of the money and board the little boat.
The whole experience was ruined. The weather was so bad that half of the people there were vomiting. I managed to stay ok and saw the whales , but my wife was just sick all the time.
We did tell Kim after we finished this terrible 4 hours as she asked us about our experience. She was indeed and genuinely interested about what happened to us and I would like to thank her for that. However, she was not professional in my opinion. We did not of course ask for a refund, but she should have offered half of the money we paid back. 60 dollars per person is just a lot of money for a ruined day

My wife and I booked the whale watching tour from home and it was the best part of our whole vacation. Kim and the whole crew were extremely friendly and took great care of everyone. We got to see the whales breaching at least a half dozen times and felt completely safe even in the larger waves. I would highly recommend using Kim for a whale watching tour. Very professional group. Thanks for the great trip!

My mother and I went on Kim's whale watching excursion and were rewarded by sightings of about 7 whales, including one new male to the area. Her excursion is detailed and one learns a lot about these magnificent creatures. I highly recommend.

These are professionals. I'd go with no-one else. Wonderful experience and many naturalists to answer any questions concerning the whales. Kim founded the whale watching here in 1983 and is originally from Ontario, Canada. We were pleased to support such a great group.

Amazing, once in a lifetime experience!!!! Wonderful crew with excellent knowledge to share, truly ethical operation that followed the latest whale watching regulations designed to protect the whalesunlike many of the vessels in Samana Bay which got way too close to whales and even ran their boats right over where whales could have surfaced and got extremely injured! I saw 6 whales on my half day trip and can't wait to go back again.

That give you lot of information along the trips but sometimes it can be dangerous if whales get naughty. (Your stomach might not last for long!)

I can't believe I have lived in the Dominican Republic for over 12 years and this was my first trip to Samana to see the whales. We were so pleased that we booked to go on Kim's boat. The trip was fantastic and we saw 8 or 9 whales in total including following a mother and baby. Kim and her crew were friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, I feel as though we not only had the fantastic privilege to get up close to these magnificent creatures but we learned so much about them. Everyone who visits the DR during whale season should definitely go and see them and Kim is the very person to go with to maximise the experience. Your safety, comfort and enjoyment are her top priority.

If you go in the morning (busiest tour) you can stay the afternoon on Cayo Lev. Island for extra 5 USD.

Great operation with knowledgeable owner, courteous staff, clean and comfortable boat. Besides making 2 daily whale-watching trips in Samana Bay for curious tourists, this organization helps the public observe and appreciate these magnificent creatures from a safe distance, promoting conservation over hunting and depletion of endangered species. The trip was very well organized, informative and worth every penny of the passenger fee. We were able to observe a large female humpback whale swimming around with her calf for approximately an hour, accompanied by a running commentary from Kim and her multi-lingual staff. The boat crew was extremely attentive and courteous, voluntarily providing rain coats for those seated in the bow-spray area and providing embarking and disembarking assistance. Highly recommended, if you're visiting the Samana Bay area.

Excellent tour by Whale Samana.please only use boats that are registered and licensed to whale watch!! Very sad to see small boats that looked unsafe for passengers and getting too close to the whales! Whale Samana provided a professional experience, lots of good information shared with participants. I highly recommend Kim Beddall and her team!
