A truly wonderful place that is more beautiful than what can be captured in pictures. Our two favorites was hiking through the surroundings with Juan and the food (every meal of it).

This place is absolutely beautiful. Fantastic views. Food was delish. They really make you feel at home 🏡. To get there is a little tricky. The roads are not great but is worth it. Will come back.

You look for a real native living experience, for your first arrival on the island Hispaniola, than this location is it! The Tubagua Ecolodge is soo basic and simple living, that you can feel like a explorer in #primitive #technology, but with a little bit comfort like warm shower and cold pool and community toilet and of course: WiFi! The owner family is living together with you and has a handfull of friendly staff. They offer you a good meal for morning and dinner. But you need a car to go to there, because it's a little bit far from the beach of Puerto Plata or Sosua, and it's in the hillside. This gives you most spectacular views from the highs to the Atlantic beach and really amazing view while wake up in the morning, directly from your wide open, fresh air and no-air-conditioning single room under the obligatory mosquito mesh. You will really enjoy this place, but you should not aware 4🌟 hotel comfort, because it's super eco-friendly expensive.

Very nice visit. The food was delicious (for the vegans aswell) and rooms were clean. A little camping like experience in beautiful environment. Nightly noise of the jungle or otherwise the closeness to nature doesn't disturb too much. Host and staff were reallu friendly.

Ideal place to transition from hectic American life to island pace. Million dollar views, great food and absolutely wonderful wonderful staff. Also amazing meeting people from all over the world at the family style meals.

Very welcoming place, very well taken care of. Make sure you sign up for the hike in the Jungle to the local water hole. If you like nature you won't be disappointed!

This is truly an awesome place! The location is amazing! Went one a hike to the multiple water falls seen in the photos with a great tour guide from the DR. The dinning room has an amazing view that is simply unparalleled. Rainbows span the sky and landscape multiple times an hour and the mood is fantastic.
