Interesting airport. Did online check-in, but not useful. There's no real gate, you just pass through when the belt between the two poles lifted. You also have to walk by a beautiful golden retriever.
The lines were quite long for luggage, security, and custom when I was there. The font of the declaration form is very small, and in Spanish.
So, be prepared, arrive early, bring your reading glass, learn some Spanish, get over your cynophobia, and take only things allowed to be taken in your carry-on.
New terminal is open but the signage hasn't been updated. Our airline moved to new terminal and we had a long walk because signs still had it listed in old terminal.
Small airport but it works just fine. It's in open airport so it a little hot so go comfortable.

The best airport in the Dominican Republic. Great stores.
Nice, open-air design. No issues with stolen items, but only with how operations are ran. Terminals can be a bit confusing for first timers. Everyone was accommodating for the most part.
The employees will try and take your luggage for you to earn a tip which is nice but they are kind of pushy about it which is annoying. I was completely confused as to where to go because there were seemingly no signs or directions. Staff seemed like they didn't care and just brushed you off as quickly as possible
