20 years ago it used to be the best plaza in town. With the completion of other malls and plazas it became obsolete. Nowadays is mostly used to purchase, fix and sell cellphones. Around 85% of the stores in the plaza are electronic shops.

The original big mall still active not like it's glory days. This is where you find best places to fix your watches and electronics like phones.

Don't let the place let you down by its outside view, in the inside is just like any other mall in DR, maybe a little bit less luxurious. I usually go there to the gym which is planet fitness and I'm really please with its services. It's well equipped and machines are modern and we'll kept!

The place looks aged and has very few recognizable brand stores. Few food options from fast food chains. Yet the place is vibrant with people. You will say the public is not as high pitch as other plazas nearby but it's an ok place for bargain search.

The mall is old. However, it seems to be in better shape since the new administration started. There are branches of just about every Dominican bank, plenty of high to middle end stores, and a whole lot of kiosks on the hallways. There's a Planet fitness gym. The food area leaves a lot to be desired. Coming in and out of the Plaza is a pain because of the corner it's located on (complete traffic chaos).

Mall with many business, its looks aren't great as it is a pretty old mall. Nevertheless, they so have plenty of businesses to eat, banks to do transactions, atms, clothing stores, hardware stores and a Planet Fitness. The location is pretty convenient, to arrive in public transportation or by your own means. They usually have parking lots as cheap as 1 dollar for 2 hours.

The first plaza in Santo Domingo!
Its a classic and has a varieties of department stores such as Morphe Wireless Communication where you can find all kinds of iPhones and repair them. There are other known stores also like Cuesta, Anthony's, Pandora, Bank Reservas, Popular Bank, Western Union and Money Gram.
Plaza Central has a food court also where many local and international franchises are found!
Plaza Central's Logo is a Red Apple!
Since this is one of the first plaza in Santo Domingo, it needs a hand to magnify its beauty and prestige!

With the recent (and much needed) remodeling, the place looks modern. It is still not up to par with malls like Blue Mall or Agora but it's ok.

You HAVE to have a reason to go here! Cause the places are limited, very ugly stores and NO AC or Bad AC in most of the Plaza like the food court is a graveyard! I mean really awful, all the decent places have closed!, they are however, remodeling, so let's see where they end up!

Plaza Central is a very popular mall. I would give it 3.5. It's one of the oldest mall of Santo Domingo. It's located on a stratigic main avenues joint, though allowing people to visit it. In addition, it is affordable and you csn find most of the stores you'll find at other malls. They have been over hauling the place to make it more appealing

Grim, Dark, Dirty + Low Quality Stores. The parking place at the top has more (and deeper!) potholes than the average Dominican street. Some parts of the mall have no roof, no A/C, are under constant repair and look like a scene from "Final Destination" juuuust waiting to happen.
The stores are mostly: cell phone jailbreakers, tattoos, lotto booths, fake nails, fake hair, fake cologne, fake bling-bling, faux leather shoes and cheap clothes.
The Food Area truly redeems the "junk food" label.
All in all, this mall holds great appeal for people living on a minimum wage & below. Avoid.

Needs help. It has some good stores and everything, but the building is falling apart. It has a weird smell in the food court and the AC doesn't work and even the lights from the third floor are not working. This building needs help fast.
