Not having high expectations since reading some mixed reviews about this resort,we were, my wife and I treated like royalty by the great staff, ate some of the best meals we had in the Carribean, really enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of this boutique hotel, enjoyed the beautiful private sandy beach and the jaccuzzis offered on the premises. would absolutely recommend this place and do have high expectations, you will not be disappointed.
Let me start by saying I ve always stayed in big resorts. this one is not. the charm and intimacy and friendliness is contagieous. staff was great, the food was great and very good value for the all inclusive. I recommend it to everybody. will definitely be back.
The resort is cozy and has two parts to it. One side is chiq and modern. The other is classical and beautiful. Being on the smaller side, you truly feel the personal touch from every staff member. The owner, Benoit, is willing to do anything to make your stay better. If there was something that wasn't to our liking, he was quick to help us. He even got the chef to make a special cheesecake just for my girlfriend and I. We came in the off season, which was nice and quiet. We were able to use the VIP hot tubs since no one was there. We also went on an amazing horseback ride with Wilson, the tour guide. Wilson also took us to an unbelievable zipline over a freshwater pool. Truly magnificent. If you're looking for a personalized, relaxing vacation, this is the place for you!
I strongly recommend Phoenix Spa and Resort to everyone. I had taken the all inclusive package and I do not regret my decision. The price was phenomenal for what you get. Filet Mignon, rib eyes, tartar, sea food, pasta and much more. The service was 5 stars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool surrounded by Jacuzzi's and cabanas was very relaxing. What I enjoyed most about the pool was that the water of the pool was treated with salt water instead of chlorine. since i have sensitive skin i was able to use the pool more often. The owner should advertise this more. I really enjoyed the resorts private beach, there was food and drinks and no one trying to sell you all kinds of garbage unlike the public beaches. I will definitely plan my next vacation with Phoenix Spa and Resort.
Nice, small, out of the way hotel that caters to guests.
Awful, awful "resort." Walk in the door, 200.00 for "utilities" although the whole resort had no hot water for about 8 hours. The 70 dollars per couple for the shuttle is a waste of money. The shuttle will take you down the road to caberete everyday but to sasou(sp?) Only twice a week. Not worth the 70 USD. Also if you use your credit card to pay there is a 10% upcharge on the total price. Dont bother getting the all inclusive package, you are charged for bottled water and the food is sub par to say the least. I ordered fish and out came a meat thing, which is the best way to describe it. Also the staff speaks little to no English so unless you speak a lot of Spanish, good luck. The bathroom door is also see through and unless you're 5 you won't fit on the toilet since the sink and shower are about a half inch to each side of the toilet. There is also only 1 restaurant although 2 are advertised and the swim up bar is non existant. It's there but there's nothing in the space and not staffed. We paid for a week, spent 700 USD on the all inclusive, and the 70 for the shuttle, and after 2 miserable days there we booked the remainder of our stay at the grand bahia principe which was 100 times better. Only pro is the staff is incredibly nice and try to be accommodating but guess what? The staff are the resort we ended up going to were also great and spoke english. Don't go here please!!
Recently returned from a long overdue vacation at the Phoenix Spa. In one word, amazing but there is more to it then that. The staff, the food everything was great. A very pleasant atmosphere and a beautiful environment. Something has to be said about the beach which was absolutely superb. I wish to thank everyone at the resort for making my stay a memorable one. Muchas gracias!
The staff here are really cool but I’d save your money. There are way better resorts you could go to that either cost the same or less than this one. If you want to do anything (even go to the beach) you have to leave the resort which I didn’t like. If you’re trying to relax for a few days by the beach this is the place to go. If you want to go out to casinos, clubs, or beaches I’d go elsewhere. Also there isn’t much variety to the food you can get.
Beaches paradise, crystalline waters, a marine reserve of Cabarete Nature Reserve, and an unequaled charm of its people, its streets and its gastronomy that make a day in "PHOENIX" is more than a simple getaway.
Dos veces la comodidad, dos veces el valor, dos veces el hotel.
We wait for you, the best vacation of your life, atte flaco jade 😎
Cozy small rèsort where folks work hard to make sure you have a good time. Excellent food and drink. Make sure you buy the all inclusive package
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this intimate and modern resort. At first, I was a little hesitant in going there since I read a few bad reviews about this place. However, I don't see how those people could have left those negative comments since they weren't accurate. Everything was just perfect! At the exit of the airport, we were greeted by a gentleman who had a big sign with our names on it. He brought us directly to the resort. Upon entering the resort, we were greeted by the staff who quickly took our luggage and offered us a complimentary welcome cocktail while checking in. The room was super clean and spacious. Very modern and well equipped. We didn't feel like we were in a third world country. We had WiFi, a/c and purified drinking water. The ambiance was very nice with entertaining music, The pool area is absolutely gorgeous and at night, it's illuminated with different colors of light. Very Vegas style and romantic! I was a little hesitant to buy the all inclusive since I like to eat at different restaurants. But I was pleasantly surprised since the menu is so big and I didn't even get the chance to try everything during my 1 week stay. It felt like I was at a different restaurant every night. The food is excellent and it was really worth buying the all inclusive. One day we went outside of the resort to do some exploring. We stopped at a little place to eat by the beach and it cost us 30$ for a small pizza. Thank-God we bought the all inclusive! The staff is really nice and the place is really clean. The owner is sometimes there and he is very attentive and wants to make sure all the guests are happy. We also went to visit the Phoenix # 1 which is next door. It's also a very nice resort. It's not as modern as the new Phoenix but it is also very tropical and cozy. We met many nice people from different places in the world.
I also treated myself to a massage and manicure/pedicure. Again, it was fabulous.
Since we enrolled in their VIP membership, we will definitely return in the near future!.Thank-you to all the staff of Phoenix Spa & Resort for our wonderful stay!! We will see you soon!!
Loved the very quiet and peaceful atmosphere here. it is not fancy but it is clean and the food is absolutely delicious, it tastes like homemade food. There are not too many people at the beach, at times me and my husband had it to ourselves. The staff is absolutly amazing!very helpful and friendly. Worth the money
Thank you to the very friendly and helpful staff. We had a beautiful suite, delicious food, plenty of purified water and we mingled with many friendly guests. The resort is not on the beach but a shuttle is available to take you to the beach or to town. Excursions with Wilson were interesting. Our private day long tour of Puerto Plata with Wilson was definitely a high light . I don't think it would be a resort for the younger set but for a middle aged couple who were interested in seeing some of the country outside of a big resort, who wanted to meet some of the native people and who wanted to relax it was a lovely place.
Courteous and helpful staff. They really keep a tight ship. Not right on the beach, but its a few minutes away. Will go back there again. They are building an addition, looks amazing. So my note on 0-10 , solid 8.5 :)
