We absolutely loved our experience at Pastrata and highly recommend everyone go during their stay in Punta Cana! The owner was very personable, friendly, and upfront about the restaurant. Not only was the owner amazing, but the food was the best Mexican food we've ever had. Everything is homemade and organic which made it that much better. He really cares about his customers and is also a chef so he knows how to make the food spectacular! You are missing out if you don't come here!

The ambiance on the patio is great and the menu is varied. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here.

Pros: The dishes were fresh and there were a few vegetarian options on the menu

Cons: The food was a bit bland and the service wasn't great. The waiter didn't speak a word of English and when we'd order in Spanish, wouldn't tell us when he didn't understand.

We've being going to Pastrata for several years and the food is to die for! We went over the christmas holidays and the owner and his wife were warm and friendly and true to form the food and drinks were superb! I always order the fish tacos with homemade tamarind sauce my mouth is watering ! All the other dishes and drinks my family and friends have eaten and drunk were all amazing! Can't wait to go back!

The food is amazing and tastes just like in Mexico! The portions are quite big as well. The service is also very nice & friendly. Worth every peso :)

I visited this restaurant the other day and I saw a dead cockroach on the floor. I was so grossed out I couldn't enjoy my meal, I told the waiter about this issue and he did not care at all. The cockroach stayed on the floor the whole meal and the food was not worth this horrible experience. I will never go back to this restaurant and I do not recommend it.

Loved everything about the restaurant! Met the owner/chef - Hernan, he was warm and welcoming.

The food was hot and delicious, everything was fresh with a genuine Mexican taste.

I have traveled the Caribbean, Central and South America, and this restaurant is in my top favorite list.

I will be back and highly recommended the location, the chef and the experience!

Food is excellent, large portions with fresh, healthy and classic ingredients. Fair prices. Staff are kind and attentive, the owner is very nice and helped with our order. Best Mexican I have ever had. Highly recommend to everyone. Exceptionally clean kitchen.

Very good Mexican restaurant. A bit disappointed by the guacamole which had too many big chunks of tomatoes. We also would've liked some beans in the vegetarian burrito and the Swiss enchiladas were pretty simple, but everything tastes good. A bit pricey for what it is.
