this is a free an relaxing excursion to enjoy while in Punta Cana. you learn how cigars are made. our guide Andre was very nice. you get a free cigar to enjoy as he showed is around. I'm told prices were a little high. they also offer no pressure souvenir shops too. next we went to the rum bar where or expert guide Louis guided us thru the finest rums available in Domincan Republic. We had the best time of our trip here! Salud! there is also a chocolate making place here that allows you to sample chocolates.

Great wee two hour trip out the resort. We got to see them make cigars and each person in the group got a sample. They also had rum tasteing, chocolate tasteing and coffee tasting all with the opportunity to buy. There was also a good large gift shop. The tour was free from our hotel and while is could of been 1.5 hours rather then 2 hours we enjoyed the tour and shops and samples. Worthwhile to get out the resort for a bit for no cost.

This excursion was free & included with our Apple vacation so we went. The bus out there was very small but we had a bigger bus on the way back. It lasted about a half day with 2 of those hours (approximately 4 hours total) being used for traveling. We thought it was okay for being free but were left a bit disappointed because we thought we’d get to see everything (such as: coffee, rum, & chocolate) being made but we only saw some cigars being rolled. Everyone was very nice but the tour of each building was extremely quick & it’s very obvious they want you to buy a lot because they walk you right to the gift shop. The staff was friendly but we found ourselves sitting around waiting for our bus to come get us.

I didn't enjoy this "controlled" shopping experience. The operators of the shops (likely all owned by the same group) wouldn't allow us to leave the gated shop area unless we were willing to arrange our own transport back to the hotel. Overall, the experience lacked any real culture, although the employees and staff were very nice. In this gated compound, you can get a quick tour of cigar making, but you can also purchase jewelry, typical tourist gifts, rum, coffee, and chocolate. You also are able to get free samples of cigars, rum tastings, coffee, chocolate, and mamajuana (the local spiced rum in Dominican Republic).

Cigar making, Rum, coffee and chocolate shop. In a way its a tourist trap. Designed for tourists. It is a safe "shopping" experience in a fenced compound. Not a true Dominican shopping experience in the local Punta Cana economy. So understand what it is. It was fun and free to go to. Cigar making tour and a free cigar to try. Rum tasting, hot chocolate and chocolate tea tasting were free. There is also a coffee shop. You can buy rum ,cigars, coffee, chocolate and other souvenirs.

Little pricey but honest. No barteringjust the price . I hate when i am told a " good price " No .i want THE price
Quality products ..not something that breaks before you go back home.
Cigars could be cheaper but great selection

I was disappointed with the selection of items and the prices. Surprisingly i found better prices at the resort for things like bags. They have a lot of stuff but our resort offered a weekly flea market. Perhaps, the cigars and rum might be worth the trip. I didn't visit the rum, cocoa, or cigar stores . As always, it's relative, but the flea market will probably offer better things (wooden objects, jewlery, clothes, etc.) at slightly better prices. The staff at my resort was phenomenal!!! All the best in Punta Cana!
