Excellent hotel, modern, luxurious, very clean. This is not an all inclusive, but they have restaurant room service at great price.

Have stayed here twice over the last two years. Neither stay was great, but I love to kite, I have a lot of friends that live or stay In Cabarete, and this place is the most conveniently located. So it would do. Also, it is attached to the Laurel Eastman Kiteboarding School (LEK), which receives my highest recommendation of 5 stars, so if for no other reason than to be at LEK which I dearly love.
Back to the hotelon the last stay, the sheets and towels were heavily loaded with an offensive amount of fragrance, so much so, that it was making me feel sick. Disclaimer: I have allergies to fragrances including perfumes and fabric softener, like many people do. Regardless, that stuff just isn’t good for you. I informed the hotel and asked them to wash the sheets and towels with fragrance free cleanser, which they did. Everything was fine, so I thought.
Despite my mediocre prior stays (which included a severe bout of food poisoning that had me bedridden for days and required a doctor to come to the room), I decided to go back for a third time to enjoy the lovely wind, waves, sunsets and friends.
When making the reservation, after receiving the booking for payment (and after I had already booked and paid for my airfare), the hotel wrote me and was condescending and insulting about my medical condition, which was at issue on the prior stay. They “offered” to cancel my reservation, which they did, without me even having a a chance to reply, stating they did not think they were equipped to handle my “smelly” concerns.
I have never been so insulted in my life. No less In regards to a sensitive and personal medical condition. If this is how they treat someone with a respiratory issue, I wonder how they would treat someone missing an arm.
In retrospect, they did me a favor. Would not want to spend my money at this dump.
Save yourself from a similar situation. Don’t go.response / report this review -

Everything was great. The room was beautiful, spacious and stylish. It had a microwave, a fridge, a blender, a coffee machine and a sink in a sort of kitchenette. Pool and facilities were also very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They let me check in at 10 am instead of 4 pm, and check out at 4 pm instead of 12 pm without additional costs. Also, they spontaneously informed guests about the incoming hurricane and provided safety suggestions/measures.

The rooms are beautiful. I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. Grounds are well kept. The service is excellent. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the restaraunt is severely over priced. $40 to $60 for 2 for breakfast in the DR is outrageous.

Didn't stay at the hotel, so I can't comment on that, but I went to dinner at their restaurant. We were a party of 3.
I had the Angus Burger, my wife had the Tuna tartar and my friend had the macaroni and cheese. The burger had a very strange texture and didn't taste good at all, couldn't finish it. The mac and cheese came straight from Kraft box and the tuna tartar was basically still frozen. Pretty terrible experience.response / report this review -

Friendly staff, beautiful beach and pool. A short walk to town central to restaurants, clubs and shopping.
