This place was awesome! Was just there in early May 2018. I was picked up at my resort in Punta Cana and dropped off. We got on a nice Catamaran. It included alcohol, sandwich, snorkeling, and finished swimming in a shallow area. The crew was very energetic and the music was good. They fixed us some coco locos and they definitely taste as good as they sound. They provide the snorkeling gear. The gear is very basic and I highly suggest to bring your snorkeling gear if you have it. Snorkels they provide are traditional J snorkels. They provide you with a waist floating device as well. Definitely bring go pros. They have a section where you can swim with sharks and stingrays. Definitely recommend it!

    + Friendly crew/staff
    - The cages for the sharks are way to small.
    - The ray photo ops is extremely annoying as there is no time and the next person is already waiting. Further the ray is always on the water surface which is cruel.
    - Different boats and each has very loud music.
Absolutely NOT worth 100 bucks and definitly not good for the animals.

Not the best snorkeling trip we've been on. Especially when you are with 50 other people. It was cool to see the stingray and sharks.

This review isn’t to say that I had a bad time, on the contrary the crew were nice and me and my girlfriend had a great time snorkelling.

My only issue was the sheer amount of plastic waste that they were giving out, even the sandwiches were wrapped in two plastic bags! I often found myself picking up other people’s rubbish because the crew didn’t seem too phased about it rolling off the pontoon into the sea.

This doesn’t ruin the experience whilst on the excursion, but if you walk along the beach away from the resorts I found hundreds of plastic bottles, bags, plates etc all along the seafront, all similar packaging to what was supplied by the marinarium crew. Now I’m not saying the marinarium is entirely to blame for this (as there are a lot of similar excursions), but I just wished that they paid a bit more attention to looking after the environment that they are making a profit out of.

Now we paid nearly £150 for this experience, so why can’t they provide refillable marinarium bottles (1 per person which doubles up as a souvenir), wrap the sandwiches in paper napkins and overall take a bit more care and pride in upkeeping the surrounding environments?

Fantastic time. Yes the music is loud and cheap drinks, but the crew are fantastic and full of non-stop energy. It was an opportunity to see sharks and rays; we didn't agree with photographs with the fish and handling them. Small group today in the morning and friendly - no one drank too much. We enjoyed it.

Went 4 years ago, it was fun then.
Came back 4 years later, and what a vast difference. Didn't think it could get better, but it did! Decided to do the half day excursion, which was 4 hours. Loved the trip, loved snorkeling with the fish and sharks, loved the guides! Would give it 10 stars!

We went on the snorkeling excursion and it was great. The staff was friendly and you get to swim with nurse sharks and hold a sting ray.

This excursion wasn't anything that was promised. We originally booked it because we would be able to snorkel, feed the fish, hold the stingrays and see the sharks. We seen maybe 20 fish in the cage with the 3 sharks, and 3 stingrays. We never held the stingrays for a photo or fed any fish. On the day we went the water was so rough you had to hang onto a rope to get into the cage so the current wouldn't take you away. Seeing the sharks and stingrays was very cool but considering we payed some big money and couldn't even hold a stingray is annoying.

If you love to listen to "music" that is playing at "110 decibels," then this is the place for you. Also, what IDIOTS bring toddlers and infants snorkeling? And the fools at Marinarium don't have any age restrictions. They will gladly slap a mask and snorkel on an infant. I watched them do it with two babies and several toddlers. Unbelievable! The screaming and crying coupled with the outrageously loud "music" was unbearable, and it took away from the beautiful surroundings. Such a shame.

The Marinarium excursion was a lot of fun. We got to snorkel with nurse sharks and stingrays. They also offer the reef explorer excursion here, which was the best one we went on in the Dominican. You receive a massage and can kayak, snorkel with stingrays and sharks, paddle board, or just relax on a floating dock. Both excursions were well worth it.

Good experience. We did every activity to include snorkel in and out of the fenced area, kayak, SUP, massage (amazing), seadoo snorkel, and much more. Cool to see the nurse sharks up close and hold a stingray. They let you use your own camera as well. Staff was extremely helpful and seemed to enjoy spending time with guests. Recommend a visit.
