Disappointed. Stories of danger outside the terminal shopping area I suspect were to keep us with the business from which they make money. You can see the city from the boat and it looks like every other city, with good and bad, industry and residential, safe and unsafe places.
Also, if it was a dangerous place, why did the Captain not just take us somewhere else? Avoiding known dangers is part of a Captain and Carnival Cruise Lines' job. It all seemed very self serving to me. I love Carnival Cruise Lines, but I think they blew it on this one.
One of the vendors was rude with me. I told him he was rude and I would not be buying any decorative carved fish from him. I also kept a close eye on my Mom when she was near the same vendor. Everyone else was kind and courteous. The vendor I chose to buy something from was even trusting enough to let me go with the item before paying and return with the money I had become separated from. Maybe this was his way but it speaks volumes to me.
If I were to go there again, I would like to of the city. I would probably ignore the advice from Carnival Cruise Lines and would strike out on my own. I don't recommend that for everyone. I strike out on my own adventure when in a new place often. Even in a friendly place it is not the safest way to see new things.
Cruise terminal some distance from the town it's self, I would not recommend walking.
Cruise Ship Terminal in La Romana, is flourishing well for the cruisers. Area hold a very beautiful sight seeing in the natural environment. People are nice and friendly here.
Nice place stay in the compounds of cruise terminal unless you are going on a guided tour.
I was there many times, I recommend to check the price in the terminal, there are 2 bars outside, they accept US dollars but it's little bit expensive there. Wifi is not good, I think because usually this place is busy. You can take a taxi there. If you want to save money, you can take a mototaxi just outside the terminal. The supermarket Jumbo is not far, you can even walk.
Super Service! Keine nervige Einreise! Man wird direkt vom Flugzeug zum Schiff gefahren!
Nice small cruise termi al with few stores and coffee bars
Hermosa vista y panorama
Small and expensive
Very nice island
Joli terminal
