“A hidden gem in the heart of Gaspar Hernandez ~ Excellent value for what you get!!”
We stay here every time we are in Gaspar Hernandez, Dominican Republic. Always clean and very tidy! It's a lovely little hotel, with a great second floor view of the main street with a patio set to sit on. Friendly and helpful staff and the price is perfect for what you get!!
All rooms have a "vanica" (Huge metal fan) and private bathrooms. Most have Air Conditioning units as well. (A/C only runs when the city has electricity though but the hotel does have a generator that kicks on, so you will always have lights, fan and satellite TV) and on my last trip Feb 2014 they had even upgraded several of the rooms to have mini fridges as well!! A big plus for us!! Daily Cleaning service if you want it we usually just have them wait as I like to clean it myself.. (They will actually leave me a broom and mop near our door) :-D I love this place actually!
Across the street is Comedor La Sopa!! (small restaurant) that sells delicious typical Dominican dishes and a Dominican version of Chinese food bit further down the street! And Cafeteria Billy just past the bridge for more varieties, bizcochos (cakes) and the best chuletas (pork chops) I've had in the DR. We eat there often for breakfast and lunch!
The Hotel is in an excellent location for exploring nearby rivers, mountains ranges, country sides, crab fishing, eco-touring, etc. So many nature geared things to do within close proximity; it's a hard city to pass through if you are not into "tourist traps".
We prefer the road less traveled
