Great trip! It's quite a long way from Punta Cana but totally worth it. After arriving by bus you ride horses to the national park. Then you hike through the national park until the entrance of the cave. Many lizards and tropical plants to be seen along the way. You enter the cave through an 18m vertical descent by rope. In the cave there are many bats and other parts to discover. The highlight is swimming through a cave River and a short dive. After the cave you take horses back to the starting point. It was super fun!

Had a great time at this excursion. We drove ourselves and it can be hard to find. There were no signs at all, so be prepared to ask the locals on the way. Google maps was pretty accurate except for the last turn off.

Yeah, at first I wondered what I got myself into, but it turned out to be a great and authentic DM experience: 2hr bus ride through the country was beautiful and interesting but through the towns was a carnival ride. Horseback ride was cool, hike was strenuous, cave was an adventure, cold water challenge, 10000 bats, mountain top views, and finished off by a home cooked Dominican lunch with fresh picked avacados that beats resort food by a thousand billion times. This is not a polished tourist milk-toast ride, it's caving and lunch with some Dominican amigos. Don't miss the opportunity to leave the tourist engineered excursions behind. 5-stars

DO IT DO IT DO IT. Even if you're just considering it, do it. Seriously, never had so much fun. The hiking was great, propelling into caves was great, but horseback riding through the hills of Dominican Republic was once-in-a-lifetime. So beautiful. I can't even tell you how much it was worth it so I'll let my review end here.
