Excellent open are to spend time with family and friends, many restaurants are near by, also is in the colonial zone which mean museums, historical places, besides the fact that this park has the first cathedral of America. And usually there's some activities going on here.
This public square offers a laid-back atmosphere with Jazz players, painters, and folkloric merengue groups occasionally accompanied by dancers. Local families can be seen as they relax after a hard day's work. There are plenty of restaurants and historic sites along the perimeter of the square. A must visit if you are staying in Zona Colonial.
Take a taxi, there and back. Lots of thieves. The restaurants are a nice place to sit but watch your belongings. Be aware at all times. A great walk of the old buildings but I cannot stress enough.be diligent of you and your belongings. The people around you are watching and waiting for you to be a tourist and you will be robbed. Stay in the main area, dont explore outside the main boardwalk. Just one block outside the main area you will be robbed. Take a taxi, even if it's only a few minutes walk to your hotel. You will have a group of 10 to 15 prostitutes and kids, approach you, they fluster you, then they steal your phone, wallet, cameraand then they run.
Historic place, very nice to hang out with friends or family. Lots of pidgeons if you like to feed them. :)
This is a pretty good landmark. I didn't go inside but on the outside you can find locals playing music, playing dominoes/chess, places to eat and a feeding hub for pigeons. It's actuall kinda cool. Go visit
Beautiful main tourist attraction situated in the middle of La Zona. You can ride the choo choo train around the area, take a walking tour, or ride bikes (rental shop is close) usually people are playing dominoes, feeding the birds, or relaxing. Very safe place during the day.. not so much at night so be careful if it's late. One of my favorite places to people watch.
Beautiful historic park next to one of the most historic cathedrals in the Americas. ideal place to take a break after a day of visits to multiple historical places in the area. Do not miss the opportunity to visit stores in search of souvenirs. Capture in photography the beautiful colonial atmosphere and do not forget to enjoy a beautiful touristic train ride.
It's a nice public plaza where I like to go and hang in a nice evening. Best place to do some reading and take your affordable coffee from a vending machine in the Nacional Supermarket nearby and any thing else to bite.
Great park in the old part of the city. Very nice in the evenings and a great place to relax and watch local artists.
Best of am there are many restaurants all around!
Must go and see at night!
Beautiful park with local vendors and musicians filling the air with culture and arts. Great historical area. Highly recommend parking and walking to get the full experience as you will not be able to access by vehicle. Great 24 hour restaurant on the corner at the hotel with a fast of Dominican food. The church at the square is the oldest in the Caribbean and has been visited by Pope John Paul II.
Great place to take pictures, Dominican history area, share with the friend's friends or family in the near by areas, day or night
Worth a visit if you're in the area near the capital. The church there is magnificent and as I understand the very first church built in the Americas.
If you are into culture, this is the place to be. The Dominican founders are buried here. On top of that there are several landmarks you should not miss when visiting the DR. It is fairly safe, but it could use some improvements.
In this park you will see the oldest cathedral in the Americas, the downton of the first city of the continent, several bars and restaurants .all within feet of one another. The park is accessible for people with disabilities, including motor disability and visual impairment.
I really love this place, I feel like a was there when everything started. This is a magical place
It's a nice place to people watch. Lots of tall shady trees and benches where one can sit, relax, get away from the heat and see tourists and locals go by while enjoying a Presidente.
Great zone to visit. Well secured area and has all facilities for shoping and dining.
Great location with tons of street performers and art. Central to the tourist area and a must visited area.
Nice historic place with pigeons around the area. Food with activity at the evening to enjoy & spend time.
On Sundays it's really fantastic, music, food, art, many museums are near by. Excellent to go with friends and family
Great place to breath and take it relax. Right side of the first Cathedral at hole America
Chill place. I love the paintings there, did buy a lot. Not sure what the locals feel about the price, but it's negligible for US tourists ($10 for a medium piece of good quality, after bargaining). I wish they opened later in the evening
beautiful and historical park. It's always good to avoid the sun or the center of the park on the summer, but at night its a completely new experience
It's such a beautiful and special place. It has a lot of history of the Dominican Republic. There are so many things and places to visit in this area. It's worth taking the time to walk and enjoy it.
