  If it is acceptable to you to eat every meal in a sweltering none air-conditioned restaurants in 90o+ temperatures, then this is the place for you.
  
  I really did like the local staff - Angelo, Luis, Freddy all deserve every success for their kindness & service - but a fish rots from the head.
  Riu Bachata is losing money because of corporate neglect.
  Don't waste you money or vacation time here.
  
  Maslow's hierarchy of needs lists psychology as the first level.
  • Spending everyday at Riu Bachata in unbearable heat was torture, no enjoyment.
  • Also, the beach is full of seaweed and rocks.
  • Lunch at the snack bar is identical everyday. You’ll feel the depression set in.
  • Want to eat in the nicer restaurant that is included in you all-inclusive price, well wake up at 6 am to make a reservation otherwise no soup for you.
  • Misplace your sunglasses or hat, you’ll never see them again – theft?
  • Free wiki only in lobby & only for first 2 devices.
  
  Protect your vacation money & time, keep searching for a vacation destination.

  I found the resort was clean and the rooms were nice. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was okay. The beach was nice until you went in the water and tried to swim. It was absolutely horrible. You were tripping over things you could not see. That explains why no one was is in the water in any of the website promotional pictures. The pools were very nice though and the day time activities were fun.The two restaurants were a first come first served with extremely limited seated. For the money I paid I could have done much better. It was a 3 star at best. Wouldn't even recommend this to my x-wife.

  Riu Bachata is a nice resort. I found it more of a mature atmosphere than other places I have been to in the Dominica. The food was great and the entertainment was average at best.

  Very clean with friendly staff. This is not a 5* hotel by world standards but is clean and delivers excellent value for money.
  
  Everything is included apart from WIFI in the rooms. Food is of a good standard if a little repetitive at times. There is not much choice of vegetarian mains but plenty of fresh vegetables and salads.
  
  Each room has either one big king or two queen size beds. There is a mini bar and drinking optics in each room.
  
  Air conditioning works well and the safe is free. The water pressure and temperature in the bathroom is excellent.
  
  Evening entertainment variable but the animation team as with all staff work very hard and long hours.
  
  Nice beach and pool setting is lovely.
