I'm an Avis Preferred Plus customer and I rent from Avis on a weekly basis. This Avis branch needs to get its act together. What should've been a nice weekend in paradise almost turned into a nightmare. Was visiting for a wedding and on day of wedding the rental car breaks down. Just wouldn't start. Wouldn't crank or turn over. We immediately called Avis and notified them. It took them over 36 hours to give us another car despite having a branch 15 mins away from where we we staying. By the time we got our new car from them we had to rush to the airport to catch our flight. Thankfully, our flight was delayed but Avis charged us an extra day for returning the car most 2 hours late. Mind you we got their late because we were in another town almost 2 hours away and didn't get a car until that morning. I've tried contacting Avis here in he US but I keep getting the run around. It's unfortunate because domestically Avis is second to none but internationally I will never rent an Avis car again. This has happened a few times to me, other members of my family and friends. Sad what a few folks can do to the Avis name

This location is a scam. They will tell you that you are required to take their insurance /damage waiver despite not being able to produce any evidence of this policy. Avis policy states luxury vehicles and passengers vans are the only vehicles that require the additional insurance. Avoid this location at all cost There are plenty of ethical rental companies at SDQ you can choose from.

Bait and switch. Unexpected charges on credit card. Came in with prepaid voucher. They email me later after return to usa. Not accepting it and charging me double the price on my credit card. Unacceptable!

We only used this location to drop off our car and everything was fine. It seemed more professional than the other rental agencies that push the insurance hard, but since we didn't rent from here can't be sure if it is better for that aspect.

I've rented from here before and it's OK. Went to pick up a car early in the morning, before the global customer service opened, and the employee forced me to purchase extra insurance before he would rent the car to me. Global customer service said they had to refund it, but upon drop off, they said "There's no note to refund", and "Make a complaint and we'll get a hold of you". Next thing I know the full amount is charged. Customer service is lousy/non-existent, and all I can say to future renters is - only go when you're able to contact global customer service at the time of the contract!
