Over priced $$$$$, and they make you wait weeks, sometimes months to get warranty work done. The quality of work is below average my car wouldn't start the other day and it is still under warranty and has been serviced there every year. I will never buy another car from there.

Where do I start? My father-in-law warned me not to buy a car from Terminalen in Esbjerg. He bought a new Nissan a year ago from Terminalen and has since had one bad experience after another with a warranty repair. Well what does that old fart know anyway..

I should have listened to him it turns outthe cautionary tale below is based on a real event. Names have been changed to protect the innocent.

I bought a used Nissan (12 000km) six months ago. About a month ago I noticed a strange sound from the engine bay. I went directly to Terminalen, who to their credit had an immediate look at it. Little did I know that this was the only positive experience I was to have in the coming weeks. Things were going to go downhill fast.

A nice mechanic constituted that the sound from the motor was the timing chain that needed to be tightened (Nissan is aware of this issue) A quick check on the internet confirmed the timing chain issue with the motor type I have. A time was booked to have this done around 10 days later at Terminalen or at least so I thought. Turns out that this visit of my car to the workshop 10 days later was only to confirm/check what they apparently already knew..the timing chain needs tightening and to cap it all off they did not have the part needed for the repair.

The part needed for this repair was out of stock was the official excuse, and Nissan needed to be contacted to give an OK for this warranty repair to be done. So there you stand thinking your car is repaired, only to realize you wasted a day.

Not to worry said the friendly man in the polo shirt, we will contact you tomorrow. Please give us your details, which I did, and reminded him for the second time that I bought the car there at Terminalen, and my details should be easily found on their system through my car’s registration number. So much for making you feel special.

Now obviously this friendly guy never calls me the next day to update me and put my mind at rest. So I go down to Terminalen again to find the friendly man has gone home for the day, and was replaced by another friendly man. I tell him my story which he vaguely recalls hearing the day before, and promises me that either him or Friendly Guy no. 1 will call the following day…..he just needs to have my details.
Neither of these two friendly guys call the next day. Did they get my details I wonder….?

Feeling slightly p*ssed off at this point I decided to call Terminalen and ask what is going on? Friendly guy No.1 is back at work and tells me that the out of stock item is now available, and Nissan had said OK for the repair which will take 2 days to finish. They can fit me in 2 weeks from now. So basically 1 month after I noticed a serious issue with my car, it will it be fixed. Let me stress this, at no point is any effort made to say sorry for this unprofessional level of service and time wasting. No excuse for not returning calls either.

The big day of the repair arrives. Friendly guy No.1 is helping grandpa who has his BMW in for a service. The word “courtesy car” is mentioned and grandpa looks super excited. Where is my courtesy car I immediately think, I digress, but will return to this point later. Friendly lady now helps me, she finds the job card for the repair, she just needs my car keys and wait for it…..my details. You cannot make stuff like this up. I now fill out for the 3rd time my details. My handwriting is not the most legible in the world I've been told, so Friendly Lady goes through all the syllables asking me what they are. “Is that a “3” or a “Z” ? Seriously who has a number in their surname unless you are a monarch?

I finally loose it when grandpa mentions the bad weather coming in, and I realize that I was never offered a courtesy car. “You are going to regret dealing with them”. Yes, my father in law was right. I regret buying my car from Terminalen.
