Lovely museum, nice people who'll explain anything to you, worth your while
Excellent visit, well worth the journey. They have archeologists on the staff and lots of useful information for all ages. Must visit for any Viking enthusiast!
Very interactive experience for the complete family. Children (9 and 12) were super enthusiastic.
Nice and interesting depending on what specials they offer that week. Good for about two hours tops. Restaurant is very eager to put a lot of veggies on everything: whether you order the sausages or the sandwich.
This is a nice experience where you can learn about the findings in Jutland about viking settlements in history that have been recreated here in Ribe. There seems to be some care in creating an accurate representation of the environment and there are nice descriptions of different structures and practices throughout the facilities. We really enjoyed visiting and learning some of the history.
For families it seems there are a number of activities as well to entertain the children, as well as "viking" children running around! They also have numerous livestock scattered along the village which proved to be a longer distraction for us than we expected. If the weather is nice, this is a great place to learn a bit of viking history and enjoy the outdoors at the same time.
An ongoing Viking Age research project in a beautiful spot. Great spring market!
Loved it! Make sure to go early so you don't get stuck if there's a queue.
Loved the place, but it was +32 when we were there, so it kinda killed the mood. We will take another trip during spring or fall.
If you are found of viking history, then this place is for you. Loads of fun for the kids also.
greatly enjoyed my afternoon here. There was a market on where people were making items for sale in the traditional ways. The buildings are superbly presented. Staff and volunteers friendly and full of information. Highly recommend a visit.
Lovely park, we were there last year on the end of the season.
So it was a bit quiet.
The people were friendly and eager to share their knowledge.
The park was lovely too see and had an aura of peace and so.
It was the first time i heard a viking sing, "don't worry be happy" XD.
Only downsize i can mention. That some books are only in German or Danish. I loved the book with building plans how to make a viking bed for example. But i don't read German and so So a shame some books weren't in more languages.
