Really amazing and friendly restaurant for my first lunch in Copenhagen. The open sandwich was just tasty, the staffs give me adorable environment and feel like hosted by a friend. Highly recommend and suggest to reserve especially at weekend. If have chance back to Copenhagen for sure i will be back here!

This place is a must if you visit Copenhagen. Great old fashioned atmosphere. Classic smorrebrod plates. The 3 kinds of herring plate was exceptional for the variety of flavours. Tried different varieties of snaps, all delicious.
We tried to book for 14:00 but were offered 14:15. When we arrived we found others waiting outside who were also dinning at 14:15. The doors opened and we shown to our table. The serving staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Recommended but do book.response / report this review -

Classic Danish cold cuts - in a place with a great atmosphere. The service - one of my pain points in many places - was amazing. Ask for Michael (I think he only works Saturdays :))

Very nice lunch spot! Can get very busy so may be best to book. They fit us in last minute luckily. Nice open faced traditional sandwiches matched with schnapps. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bit more expensive experience but worth it!

While they no longer have sand on the floor, this is still one of the best and most authentic traditional places for smørrebrød in the city. Great and knowledgeable staff adds to the experience.

Good service, wide selection of draft beers and local liquor, and delicious open faced (warm and cold) Danish sandwiches for all pallets. It's 2 min walk from the Round Tower. If you like warm dishes, Roast Beef with fried egg and onions and the Pork Tenderloin are yummy. Be sure to break the yolk to heighten sweetness and tenderness of the sliced roast beef. Simon's Favorite is terrific, the citrus from the lemon and lime lightened up the cream spinach but highlighted the local smoked salmon. Together with the toasted eye bread, yummm

The place was recommended by our local friends. We found the food was not that great and staff is rather unwelcoming. Be prepared that although it is opened till 5, kitchen will be closed much earlier.

Best place in town, period. Traditional Danish smørrebrød, and a large selection of snaps and aquavit (obligatory). You need a reservation.

A great taste of Danish cuisine with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our waitress suggested to have the fish plate first, then meat for an authentic experience.

Excellent service and well wort a visit just don't forget to book it is not a drop-in place all seats are taken. Well worth the walk from Nyhanvn to get the genuin feeling and don't even try to select your own Snaps it will be based on your selection of food and the match is excellent.

Very cool foods here served in the modern adaptation of the original open-faced sandwiches. There are many to choose from. Expertly prepared and quite tasty. Don't believe the menu when it tells you to order heavily. One dish plus something sweet is probably more than enough! Superb service .
