  Beautiful location, nice clean interior, fresh ingredients, and friendly staff. For the price, I would highly recommend if visiting Ribe. We were strolling around Ribe and the restaurant choices in the main square area did not look as appealing as we hoped, so we walked over to the Saelhunden by the water and found a cozy table outside. We were not sure what to expect regarding the quality of the food, but the menu had a nice variety for lunch and we ordered.
  
  The food came out in a timely manner in much larger portions than expected, and the flavors and quality and care in preparing the food went way above our expectations. The fish was cooked perfectly, not overcooked, and was seasoned nicely. The the prawn smørrebrød flavors were the best I had had on our trip to Denmark, better than some much pricier restaurants!

  Excellent dinner experience. Reserved one of the few tables in their courtyard. Service and quality of food were outstanding.

  Quality food, good service and beautiful surroundings. In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in Ribe.

  Nice little cosy place by the water. We had the tasting plate and it was fantastic! Worth going just to try all that lovely local produce.

  High quality food in a restaurant used by locals. The warm welcome was equal to the good time we have spent there. I strongly advise the onion soup which was soooooo tasty!

  I have visited Ribe twice, 6 years apart. I remember visiting here on my first visit and really looked forward to take the opportunity to call in again.
  
  I was in no way disappointed. The food is excellent, the staff are extremely friendly and only too happy to give an explanation of the source of the meal, the history of the restaurant and area.
  
  Restaurant Sælhunden is in a wonderful location, and I really hope it will not be another 6 years before I get chance to visit again!
