A wonderful art gallery with a huge range of modern art.
There are changing exhibitions so worth visiting every few months.
We spent a couple of hours there and could have spent much longer!
There is a sculpture park which looked wonderful but it was unfortunately raining the day we visited.
Excellent cultural experience. Sculpture and modern art in well designed and curated indoor/outdoor spaces, exhibiting internationally renowned artists and pieces. Fantastic restaurant/cafe. Gift/art shop and modern designer clothing available.
We got to Louisiana late in the afternoon and wanted to visit the Museum store. We had to pay admission which would be refunded if we were only there for 30 minutes. That's what we did but ended up paying exchange on the transaction in our own currency. If you are interested in this modern art museum just allow enough time to make the cost of admission worthwhile
Excellent and child-friendly museum for modern art
Louisiana is an excellent museum offering a wide variety of exhibitions and activities. Located in beautiful surroundings, the museum is interesting and has a great shop and cafe.
Louisiana has an excellent children’s wing too where children can explore many activities such as painting, sculpturing and drawing, some activities based on current exhibitions. The activities and materials are free – children will be able to spend many hours at the museum. Make sure to bring clothes allowed to get dirty for them and you. My 5 year old son can easily spend 2-3 hours in the ving so remember to take time for this if you have the opportunity. Start in the children’s ving when you come and you’ll have it all to yourselves
Since Louisiana is a popular museum, visit the museum outside weekends or on Fridays when there is live music and a fantastic atmosphere. Make sure to check the website for activities.
Beautiful modern art museum in a beautiful building in beautiful natural surroundings. The museum is shaped like a ring with exhibits throughout, so you walk from one to another without ever feeling like you've come to the end of anything. Also the children's wing is *amazing.* Three floors of art projects for little ones to indulge in, all for free. There is a Lego section, but also a sculpture area with clay! And informed and helpful staff. There only problem is that your children will never want to leave.
It's a great place for a day trip. The museum is fantastic. There is also an outdoor part. If the weather is nice, it's great to have a picnic there.
A beautifully laid out museum. It feels small at first because it's not like the massive American buildings that I'm used to. I loved "strolling" -some paths are unmarked and need agility--the outdoors. There's so much to see and take in. I spent 4+ hours and felt it wasn't enough. If it wasn't for my feet hurting, I would've stayed later but sat in silence to take in the art/nature. It was well worth trip. (Don't forget to ask for the round trip train ticket + museum admission for 200 dkk.)
Amazing museum.good and provocative art. Really modern. The surrounding area is astonishing. Sea, green, forest. You should give it a try if visit Copenhagen. It is a nice escape outside the city.
One of my favourite museums in the world.
Set an hour away from the centre of Copenhagen (very easy to get to) on the sea.
Home to modern / contemporary art from around the world.
The cafe is fantastic, meal deal or cakes are essential and the shop has loads of books, accessories some clothes and small furniture.
The gardens are the perfect place for alfresco lunch or a picnic.
Top tourist attraction.
Amazing museum. The collection is large and well curated, and very easy to follow. The gardens at the museum are stunningly beautiful. A little bit far away from Copenhagen's city center, but totally worth the trip.
One of the best art museums I have ever been to. A must go-to in Copenhagen, worth the trip outside of the city. Good to pair with a trip to Kronberg Castle, they are on the same train line.
It's a bit of an effort to get here - a way out of Copenhagen and a decent walk from the nearest train station with poor signage. However - it is well worth the trip - the buildings and grounds are lovely and the art is interesting.
My favorite museum of modern art! Great restaurant and lunch buffet. A perfect place to spend a day.
They have a nice gift shop if you fancy something special to bring home.
FANTASTIC place. Will return when I next visit Copenhagen. The views from the gallery and sculptures outside set in a sea backdrop are amazing. The restaurant serves really good food and has the advantage of the sea view too.
Beautiful museum with fabulous exhibits just a stone's throw from Copenhagen. Break taking views of the sea, and a sprawling, winding layout makes it feel more like an exploration than just wandering around a big box. Great little cafeteria as well. Make sure you take a wander outside among the many sculptures. Being a sweater in the winter as it was quite cool during our visit. The grounds are beautiful, but the building shows its age.
