They change their exhibits frequently. It's always fascinating to visit the museum. Now they have a Viking ship and a story tapestry, there's more going on at the Viking Museum in Ladby than ever! The staff is very friendly and multilingual. These are real archeologists, who make new discoveries often.
Interesting museum. Viking boat really impressive. Only criticism is this is a one trick pony.
Ship is a main attraction outside and there are some activities for kids where they can experience the age of vikings. It is not so impressive as some other viking museums in area but with the excavated and reconstructed ship it does offer more realistic view on history. A bit more boards or interactive displays would enhance experience
The museum seeks to sit on two chairs at the same time without success: The focus of the museum is the story of the ship as well as contemporary viking society. The presentations are mostly mediated towards the younger audience, but lacks immersion to be truly entertaining as well complexity to be truly educating. The well preserved ship is the true master piece of the museum, but a modern visitor would expect more than a dark dungeon encasing the ship, which gives the museum a somewhat 'dusty' atmosphere. The general surroundings of the museum(especially the fiord in the 'backyard') are definitly able to provide visitors a more interesting experience, if the museum sought to include these in future installments.
The actual tomb with the remains of the viking ship was beyond amazing. It made me feel as if I was seeing living history. I would strongly recommend this small museum to anyone interested in history, the vikings or archeology. Brilliant.
Very beautiful viking ship replica, made with good craftsmanship!
I like the replica of the ship the most. Can't wait to see it with a sail!
Excellent exhibition, translations of displays in English. Good quiz for children who have free entry. For little ones little Viking buggies to take them to the shoreline.
The only boat funeral in Denmark. Small, but interesting museum.
Very interesting and long history
