The Hotel Royal is quite old, but in very good condition, and has a vintage elevator that works beautifully (in addition to new ones). The location in old Ã…rhus is awesome. You can easily walk to shopping, nice restaurants, and even the ferry boat to Zealand. The biggest drawback is that parking is hard to come by in this old downtown area. The breakfast is quite good, and the rooms are quite large. The bathrooms are a bit dated, but are pretty nice otherwise. The room keys are old style, not Electra Nick or anything, and you have to drop them off at the front desk when you go out. All in all, we really were surprised at how nice this old hotel is. We recommend it highly!
Beautiful hotel, rooms are very spacious and the toiletries are luxurious. Location is perfect - right in the centre and so easy to get back to using the cathedral beside it as your landmark.
Staff are very helpful also, but the pillows are a bit too soft for my own personal preference.
Room was small but nice. Not too clean. Two nights - two parking tickets, so do not stay there if you come by car!
The stay in the hotel Royal is a wonderful experience. Friendly and helpful staff, well furnished, excellent bathrooms. Rich breakfast and a large bar friendly service. The hotel is adjacent to a Casino
One of the best meals we've had in Europe was at the 2nd floor restaurant of Hotel Royal. The oven baked cod, slow cooked pork and beautifully plated dishes.. made me think that we could take a train back to Arhus just for this.
Be sure to catch up with the witty turkish recep guy Ibrahim, full of great recommendations and breath of knowledge
Great hotel. Helpful staff. Comfortable beds in nice rooms. Will definitively come back.
Amazing customer service above all else. Great 24hr bar. Recently remodeled rooms. Excellent location. Will be staying here on future visits.
Visited Hotel Royal by social event (wedding) which was beyond expectations. The quality of service, food and atmosphere as whole was stunning and I would at any time recommend using the hotel for social events. We decided to book a room of the high end quality as part of the event. The room was very nice room wise and held the style which was found throughout the hotel. The reason for 4 stars however is due to the fact that the room was not cleaned to expectation. As an example there was dead flies in the window, old coffee remaininga where hanging on a one of the paintings and in addition dust was to be found at the telly. In addition the light was not working in the bedroom despite the fact that four lamps was installed in the room. The overall experience was positive and we enjoyed the whole event where the professionallisem clearly was shining through.
My stay was very enjoyable. The staff is friendly, the rooms spacious, comfortable and clean.
Like most other things in Denmark the price is a bit steep (breakfast as well)but then again the Royal is an excellent and upscale hotel.
Very nice room and service. Only thing i can complain about is the allowance of having babies to sleep there.
Great place located in the heart of Aarhus. The staff is always very friendly and makes your stay smooth
Great place. I always like to come here, because of the service and beautiful interior.
It was my firs time in Denmark, and Hotel Royal made me want to come back for more!
From the time you step in, the historical setting and the gorgeous interior of the hotel, along with the fine gold, painting and architecture, will take your breath away.
The staff was very helpful in helping us find great food around the area for dinner. For breakfast however, look no further as the hotel itself offers amazing options in a room centered around a living, growing tree!
The hotel is fairly central to town, and allows you to walk to many shops or food as desired.
Elegant and classic hotel, but a little old fashioned (e.g. A little cold and no power outlet near the bed)
