Interesting open air museum with people working the workshops during the summer, and they are all willing to explain about what they are doing.

Worth a visit, especially when the museum is "alive" meaning that there will be a lot of actors illustrating what it would be like when the village were build

The place itself is a lovely reconstruction of various time periods of danish history. Different houses represent different periods and have been disassembled at their original location to be put back together in the museum.
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Now the big but. While i think it's an absolutely lovely place for Danes (and especially their children) it's a pain for foreign visitors who don't speak Danish. You do get a flyer in German or English which made me expect to find further information in the different languages on site as well (like in Gammel Estrup). We'll you don't. So all you have is a paragraph for each building with no further info, which is very little especially considering the price of the museum.
So. I would recommend it to Danes who want to find out more about their culture. Would definitely recommend it to danish families. Would NOT recommend it for anyone visiting from another country unless you speak Danish.response / report this review -

Super place with excellent and friendly staff/volunteers, all taking you back in time. Better than just a traditional walk around and look at exhibits, especially with kids

A nice little walk around a real-faux historic, working Danish museum village. Real in as much as all houses and objects are historic and authentic, faux in that this village never existed and is a collage of buildings moved here from other places. Worth a visit.
