Nice little airport
Billund Airport (Danish: Billund Lufthavn) (BLL) is an airport in Denmark. Located 1 nautical mile (1.9 km; 1.2 mi) northeast of Billund, it serves as one of the country's busiest air cargo centres, as well as a charter airline destination, although some regular airlines also offer flights there. Nearby Legoland Billund park is the largest tourist attraction in Denmark outside Copenhagen.
Everything went smoothly. I had a low cost flight on arrival and it seemed pretty quiet and we pulled directly to a tunnel. I felt everything was informative and it was easy to get to bus station. Toillets are clean and people a friendly .
Upon our (evening arrival) immigration and luggage went very smooth. But upon our departure (around midday), there were massive queues for immigration. Planes were having difficulties with disembarking people due to this.
My advise: get an evening flight.
Great airport. Well organised. Easy for picking up and dropping off a car rental. Close to Legoland
Girls! Remember to wear pants if you go through this airport, security men are train to lift skirts and dresses in front of everyone. Right! You won't get instructions, or a female inspector or a private spot, but you'll get a "it was a misunderstanding" from Ann, the female supervisor that apparently wasn't that annoyed by the matter. I don't say that all the security people do it, but if they see it and do nothing then they are also part of it
Really disappointed with the food provision. Travelling with a group of young people desperate for hot take away style food. Finally get through check in to find Sunset closed. Only option is the same as we could have eaten in waiting area. Really poor hot selection. Now to find a water fountain as so far it's the toilet sink.
Very different arrival experience vs. departure. Arrival was straight to baggage pick up and the out the door to ground transportation. Departures takes you through a big duty free area, coffee shops and a food court. There is a Lego store if you forgot to pick something up. Security was very quick and easy to get through.
A very nice little airport with everything you need and may want e.g. restaurants & Cafe's, Duty free shops and a very nice lounge, as well as very nice views of the run way.
The arrival hall is simple, but gets the job done.
The staff are friendly and compare to its counterpart in Kastrup, this International Airport is definitely less intimidating.
But, the public transportation options to get outside of Billund is not so great, so I would definitely make full use of their rental car services or their taxi services if you are looking to get around the small town of Billund.
Good airport. Fairly efficient. Has all the facilities one needs
Nice airport, good size, self service check in ( assistance is there if needed) layout of security check could be better - but not bad.
This airport is really nice! It has a pretty large tax-free shop, several restaurants/cafés and some additional shops. There is plenty of space and lots of places to sit down while waiting for your flight.
A good airport with a decent amount of connections. It's not too big so you are never far from you gate. The staff there is mostly friendly and helpful. One bad thing is the transportation options to and from the airport, those are not that great.
It was old airport at the first visit, but now turned into modern airport, lovely to always land it.
