A wonderful historic café in Leipzig. You absolutely have to join this place for a coffee and a piece of cake you won't get anywhere else.

The coffee will be disappointing to anyone well versed in coffee. After the obligatory cup though, there's a nice museum of coffee that gives you a chance to explore a well preserved 18th century home, with some interesting facts and artifacts.

NO RECOMMENDED! I had the worst experience here. The stuff was really rude for me, when she gave desserts what I didn't order.
I explained what I ordered again. Then she complained something with small voice in german and THREW THE MENU TO ME! At the end she didn't say "thank you" or "good bye" after we paid for dire service (of course no chips) Just childish, not educated/professional.
I was really disappointed. My german wasn't maybe perfect to order but I think she should have explained more clearly.
Many tourists come to see the oldest cafe in Germany and it looks a tourist trap unfortunately. Anyway warning the horrible rude stuff!response / report this review -

Overpriced. There was also a problem in our order. The waitress was really rude telling us we messed up very rudely which we didn't she did. Her speech, her attitude were really rude as throwing the card on table. She accepted to change the order, but no sorry. And no bye bye nothing. And we were speaking German! Definitely a tourist trap!

The history and the "old" atmosphere makes this a lovely stop for coffee and a large & tasty piece of cake.

Very disappointing coffee! Tastes aweful. They obviously live from the excellent location and don't bother offering quality. The wait staff was ok.

Very old arabic cafe in a hidden passage. 3 floors and open street terrace. Tasty cakes, etc. There is a coffee museum upstairs

It's a tourist trap Overpriced, rude, and zero authenticity. If you really appreciate coffee; avoid the disappointment. Everything else in the city is a superior attraction.
