Having applied (several times) to three research groups at TUM that use Augmented Reality, I can tell you that (my personal opinion and observations) the three main professors are extremely arrogant. They almost never reply to their emails, and the postdocs that are usually involved in application processes, etc also exhibit similar attitudes. For almost two years, I tried to correspond with these three profs at TUM to continue my AR research there, to no avail. Every time I followed up my application after a long period of silence, some smug postdoc would get back to me with a curt reply, saying that my application had been declined a while ago, and of course nobody would inform me. After working in Munich in an AR company for nearly two year, I gradually found out that I was not alone in being ignored by TUM's AR groups. So, it created an awful impression on me, to the extent that I decided to never ever wanna have anything to do with TUM again.

I had an amazing time studying there (and in Garching at the same time)!
The main campus is very well located, very near the museum quarter and with many ubahn stops nearby. Plenty of varied food shops close to the university.
The rooftop is epic for a chill afternoon. It provides a 360° view over Munich and has a shop where you can order coffee, cakes, beer, sandwiches, etc. (a bit expensive though).
Classrooms are good, cleaning too. However, it should have more study rooms, since the library is ALWAYS full despite it's big size. Thank you TUM for an amazing year! Hope to come back.

I've enjoyed my time studying here, thanks Germany! The location of the inner city campus is pretty great, right in the middle of the museum cluster. It's also got a lot of good food options around.
