I've only had good experiences of Stuttgart airport. On arrival we were through passport control and luggage pickup really quickly. Travel into town easy. The return trip was equally good. Baggage drop off was quick and we were told what gate we would leave from, no queues at security, small queue at passports which was quickly processed. Unfortunately the free WiFi is limited to an hour and have dropped a star for that.

Slow, inefficient, extremely poor communication and as the top cherry: not welcoming at all. All the announcements are basically in german and no translation in English except the one to remind you to don’t leave your luggage unattended.
I lined 30mins just to grab a sandwich and after that long and only 1 person on the counter I gave upas many people didvery disappointing considering how proud they are of “hard-working german reputation”.
Definitely don’t recommend.

Queue queue queue. Took 90 minutes from carpark to clearing security. No provisions to help families check in or through security. No trolleys in carpark where they were needed most. Everything was so slow. Prices in the terminal were stupid, but that is just about every German airport now.

Travelled through a lot of airports and never seen a security scanning machine as slow or inefficient involving waiting, one person in, waiting, out, waiting, then a security person checks you. Rest of airport is expensive and lacking enough choice. Gave it 2 stars for the nice beer though.

I arrived via Frankfurt from abroad and had no single Euro on me. The baggage trolleys however need a euro coin as deposit. I had baggage and a bike to transport. When I asked the staff, if there is any trolley who doesn't need a coin, she denied it. My further request for help with my luggage was denied. I had to drag the bike box on the floor. What a poor customer service.
Moreover, some of the toilets are really smelly and need renovation.response / report this review -

My sister had a long layover as it's a connecting flight we got last minute and instead of booking a room, she said she'd just stay at the airport. They phoned the police on her as she was in the airport at 01:35 in the morning waiting for her connecting flight. She was just sat there waiting doing nothing you know. And like really?? That's how you accommodate travellers that pass through your airport? I know it's a small airport but Christ man. You guys kicked her out and she had to wait outside in the cold for the airport to open again at 4am. Assholes. Defo not spending any money traveling to or through your airport or town again.

Most staff speak English. It's not massive but has everything you would need for a short wait. Clear signage. Easy to get to the city centre by subway (S2/S3 - 30 minutes).

The people going through the check point were rude, ignored basic question about my stuff. And all around were awful. The restaurant la trattoria was so rude, they took forever to serve people their food, and when I attempted to order, they looked at me and said "wait" like I was a dog or something, absolutely unacceptable. The only redeeming quality was the lady at the restaurant down the hall, who was just as busy if not more, than la trattoria, had a smile on her face and was completely polite while clearly busting her butt to serve everyone.

Super fast security check. You won't waste much time running around free-shop useless stuff. You get straight from security to gates!
