Great food and service. Our waiter went above beyond. We took our 4 year old daughter and 4 month old son; the kids menu was in German but the waiter helped get my daughter taken care of. When she fell asleep from being exhausted after exploring the city; our waiter brought her a pillow to lay her head on. The sausages, sauerkraut, and potatoes were all very good. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone especially those traveling with children.

What to say about the Bavarian cuisine as French I always thought that Bavarian and cuisine are two word that don’t fit together 😜,

but this place is maybbe traditional Bavarian food but the best quality you can find , tasty , diverse and surprising. High quality , you will not be disappointed.. some dishes are so fine and tasty that It reconciled me with Bavarian and cuisine

Go for it if you are in town!

Beautiful restaurant that offers authentic German dishes. The prices are a little high but, considering the service and the quality of the food, this is perfectly acceptable. Obviously the pork knuckle is very popular but the other dishes are just as good. A nice place to treat yourself in a great location.

First of all. The service here was impeccable. I'm an American and like to boast on our country for service of wait staff, but the staff that worked at my table.in this restaurant were absolutely wonderful. They had regulars who they treated CV very warmly and took great care of while I, a newcomer was also given great service with multiple waitors asking if I needed a new beer.

The food was very good. I am partial to classic German cuisine.

I thought I would try something other than pork knuckle and sausages and to my surprise, I had a really good deer dish! Also, they make good lamb steak as well! Friendly service, good selection of German food and beer. Highly recommended for a good German feast.

It's better to stop here and have gorgeous Spaten lager instead of visiting Hofbrauhaus.

We waited our bill for 10 minutes after we asked for it. We did not order iced water but only tap water. Another thing is that we ordered two soup, and the waiters served us bread/ butter. In our mind, tap water and the bread/butter are two complimentary things coming with our meal. It is totally fine for us to pay for them, only when the waitress tells us in advance.
I am sorry, but I have to say, we felt NOT GOOD to be charged these two things WITHOUT PREVIOUS NOTICE.

Not as good as it was before. Seems like they have a new chief and new management. Prices are 1.5x from previous, quality is 1.5x lower than before. Not recommended, except you want to drink some beer.

We had a very calm and excellent dinner here. Although we don't live in Germany we come here so much and have tried hundreds of restaurants that we have a good idea of what's good.

Although the prices are high, 27 euro for a Wiener schnitzel, the food was good, our service was better than expected and the decor was wonderful.

I would not call this a tourist trap. It's Bavarian in the heart of Munich.
