great stay, superb wonderful staff, brilliant service, nice clean rooms, so wonderfully convenient for the trains, all this and in spite of the very dour Herr Pinger, who gave a wonderful impression of someone NOT wanting us to frequent his hotel, unlike the staff where their beautiful smiles said it all.
This was our second stay at Hotel Pinger. We enjoyed our previous stay and especially appreciated the friendly staff who all spoke good English (shame on me for not speaking German as well). The hotel catered well for my wife who needs a gluten free diet. The rooms are comfortable, but if you are visiting try to get one on the opposite side to the railway station. We have been lucky both times but I know from speaking to other guests that it was rather noisy on that side, although not unduly so. The owner, Leonard Pinger, runs the hotel with great efficiency and was very helpful when it came to suggesting walks in the local area, even providing us with maps. My wife and I hope to walk the length of the Rhine Valley at some time in the future, and we would not hesitate to use this hotel as a base, using the comprehensive railway system to take us to and from the various sections.
Holiday booked through Rail discoveries on a all inclusive tariff in the Pinger Hotel with out doubt brilliant value for money. Meals were excellent. Room was first class except for no tea/coffee facilities in room. Room was at front so being near to station could not keep windows open at night (weather was very warm during our stay) air con was next to useless more of a pollen filter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As station is near the location is ideal for getting anywhere. Also very near the river for walks, cafe's and the Tower peace museum which is well worth a visit.
