I just spent one night at this hotel, from Sunday to Monday. Overall, rather disappointing, at least relative to hotels in the same category.

First surprise, the spa is closed for all types of treatments on Sundays. Simply insane, during 50% of the weekend, one cannot get a simple massage. I can only recommend that German hotel managers and owners travel a bit more around the world to get a better sense where global standards are these days.

Second surprise, a good part of the rooms, mine include, face a relatively busy street, with quite a bit of noisy car traffic as early as 6 am.

In sum, overrated.

The excellence in a great location !
Great common place with riche decoration.
The room are more traditional in Bavarian style and they are big.
The service is perfect.

Wir waren bereits 2x in den Egerner Höfen. Die Zimmer sind wirklich schön, das Personal sehr zuvorkommend und liebenswürdig. Aber für ein 5* Hotel und den dazugehörigen Restaurants erwarte ich auch Perfektion, was leider nicht der Fall war.
Nach unserem ersten Besuch hatte ich bereits ein paar Kleinigkeiten zu bemängeln, was ich jedoch vorab dem Hotel in einer E-Mail mitgeteilt habe. Die Geschäftsführung hat sich auch sehr dafür bedankt, und uns für den nächsten Besuch eine Entschädigung zugesagt, die jedoch nicht kam.
Bei unserem zweiten Besuch hatten wir ein Gourmet-Wochenende gebucht, mit einem Essen in den Dichterstuben. Vorab habe ich bereits die Speisenkarte angeschaut und mich sehr auf das Essen gefreut. Doch zu unrecht - als Gourmet-Wochenende-Gast erhält man ein "abgespecktes" Extra-Menue. Zudem war der Service im Lokal wirklich nicht ausreichend, mit einer Fachkraft und einer Auszubildenden, was zu unnötigen Wartezeiten und fehlendem Service führte.
Bei der Abreise habe ich der Rezeption nochmal die Beschwerden mitgeteilt, doch bis heute (4 Wochen) nichts von den Egerner Höfen gehört. Schade.

Very slow check in. Not so friendly reception, 40 minutes could be easily lost. Parking is OK at the open place near the hotel. Internet is not reliable, although the router is hanged on the wall just outside me room.
