It is one of the oldest (est in 1811) and highly respected universities in the world, as 41 Noble Laureates have been reportedly associated with it. If you visit the university, you will find a 40 ft tall stack of books as a memory of the 1933 Incident in which some elements burned about 20,000 books its library. It remained part of East Germany till 1989.

One of the oldest Universities in Germany. “The philosophers have only interpreted the world in different ways. The point, however, is to change it!’
28 years after the fall of the wall Berlin's prestigious university still bear the quotes of Marx, who was a student there.Apart from Marx, Hegel, Karl Liebknecht, German Unifier Bismark, and several prominent poets and novelists were students of this university. It also boasts of having produced hundreds of Nobel Laureates.

Friendly faculty in the American Studies department, nice places to sit in the front lobby and charge devices, and nice lecture hall and classroom facilities.

Every weekend I go there to look through outdoor book market ( mainly old books, sometimes 100 y.o.) the university is situated between the museum island and Unter den Linden Street - magic location that inspires each educated person

Free entrance and you can look around or use any facilities. Also there is a bookshelf in the main lobby where you can take free books: a great souvenir from Berlin!

I used to study business at Humboldt University and I can tell you this is a great place to get your Masters Degree.
The Business Faculty offers everything you need:
    - very good and modern facilities
    - very good and renowned professors
    - possibility to spend a semester at a top university and business school abroad as an exchange student (which I did)
    - and many other very cool things.
The study is challenging and the expectations are high but this is exactly what ambitious students want.
    All in all, highly recommended!

Impressive looking building where Einstein once taught before the war. Many other very famous novel prize winners were here.

Nice university with very nice things to see. Other than that it's a pretty normal place.

Beautiful building open for visitors. Pro tip: you can go to the first floor and charge your phone while sitting by the windows - great thing after a long walk.
