Verzorgd verblijf. Niet duur als je boekt via "voordeeluitjes". Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteit-verhouding. Diner via lopend buffet. Geen dure ingrediënten maar wel met aandacht bereid. Schone kamers. Fijne bedden. Nederlandse taal.

I have stayed in this hotel for a week.  It’s very informal, the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. The owners are making sure that each and every person staying in the hotel is feeling right at home. They’re open and friendly, from the heart. They know the ins and outs of the area and are more than willing to share it with their guests to enhance the Sauerland feeling.
This type of feeling is something you don’t get at a big hotel.
The rooms are clean and the food is fresh. All of the meat we have eaten (remember I stayed there for an entire week) was all hot, all the food was at a good temperature. If you have allergies or some other thing that limits you in your food choises all you have to do is mention it and they will prepare you something else.
The bar of the hotel stayes open until the last guests leave to their room, that is my experience in the week I stayed there. Someone mentioned 9pm.. simply not true.
The elevaters all worked like they should, I don't understand why people base their rating on such a thing, sometimes things break and they get fixed.
The wellness area is private and I felt very comfortable there. There's a steam bath, infra red cabine and showers etc. It was so nice and relaxing.
The hotel is situated in a small town, with beautiful surroundings. There's a lot of stuff to do, hiking during the summer, ski-ing during the winter. Long walks to enjoy all the beatiful nature or just grab a car and go explore the area like you do in any other location. There are theme parks, nature parks, other towns in the neighbourhood to explore with all of their own history and out going bars.

Mooie ligging. Keurige kamers, waar sommige dingen zoals lampen defect zijn. Tv geen signaal op alle kamers. Men kan er niet pinnen. Prima ontbijt. Avond eten matig tot slecht. Koud vlees en soms niet snel aangevuld. Geen buffet manager. Bar gaat terwijl veel gasten nog aanwezig zijn om 20.00uur dicht. Scheelt veel omzet. Echt een senioren hotel. Voor jeugd niets te beleven. Personeel is vriendelijk en manager spreekt Fries-Nederlands. Doet receptie en bedient. Is duizendpoot en serveert in oude spijkerbroek en onverzorgd de drankjes. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding voor kamers goed. Tip: warme maaltijd en vertier elders zoeken. Boeken niet rechtstreeks, is dan te duur. Alleen via boekingssite. 1 of 2 nachten is te doen.
Bad Fredenburg ligt er prachtig bij. Uitvalsbasis voor rust en ruimte. Wandelen op prima paden. Weinig tot geen vertier. Paar cafés en eet tenten. Na 21.00uur ligt iedereen op bed en is het uitgestorven. Wie dat zoekt dan top lokatie. Schitterende omgeving.response / report this review -

De ontvangst was erg vriendelijk. Receptie verouderd. Parkeren is niet ideaal voor oudere gasten. Het hotel beschikt over een grote parkeerplaats op een hoger gelegen gedeelte achter het gebouw. Het appartement wat wij hadden was mooi en schoon. Douche cabine was klein en moeilijk uit te stappen. Matrassen op de bedden waren zeer slecht. Hier over gesproken met de eigenaar. Ontbijt en diner was prima. Goed verzorgd. Personeel was zeer gastvrij. Al met al een aanrader om naar dit hotel te gaan.

The outside of the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. Inside it is a bit better, but by hanging up some fancy lights an putting modern chairs in a room without painting the walls or ceiling, is the wrong order of renovating in my opinion.
In the room they did the same. New bed and carpet, but the walls need some paint. The bathroom is a disaster. Mold in the shower, even on the showerhead. A heap of dust in the ventilator. This thing hasn't been cleaned in years. Missing cap from the wall electrical socket. Loose curtain rail. Reported all this at the front desk, but the receptionist wasn't very impressed. He said he would pass it through to maintenance, without writing down all the issues. OK, it was relatively cheap to stay here, but the least you would expect is basic hygiene.response / report this review -

Mooie centrale ligging van het hotel. Mooie ruime kamer (kamer 31, suite) met balkon. Helaas was de lift buiten gebruik en zitten er grote gaten in de dakgoot, maar dat zou rond 15 augustus gemaakt worden.
Fietsen kunnen in een halletje naast de ingang gezet worden. Het ontbijt is heel goed verzorgd met heerlijke broodjes.
Klein minpuntje is dat ik het niet zo gepast vind een serveerster (wel een harde werkster en erg vriendelijk) in de bediening tijdens het avondeten te hebben die in vrijetijdskleding rondloopt, en waar lippiercings en grote tattoos zichtbaar zijn. Het past niet in het plaatje van een net en modern ogend restaurant en waarvan de gemiddelde leeftijd van de gasten rond de 50 ligt.
Samengevat een 4-sterren hotel dat een 5 sterren waardering verdiend mede door de onbegrensde inzet van het Nederlandse koppel die alles runnen!response / report this review
