Nettes familiär geführtes Hotel in einer restaurierten Villa. Frühstück mit Liebe zum Detail. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Fernseher könnten etwas größer sein. Freies W-lan.

Wir haben in diesem Hotel zum Beginn unserer Elberadtour übernachtet und waren über die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der beiden Inhaber und des Teams begeistert. Wir haben unseren Wagen vor dem Hotel stehen gelassen und die Inhaber haben ein Auge darauf geworfen. Das Hotel selber ist ein stilvolles Juwel der Jahrhundertwende, welches nicht nur toll erhalten, sondern auch toll ausgestattet ist. Zimmer und Frühstück waren sehr gut. Erwähnen möchte ich das sehr schöne Frühstückszimmer und die Verwendung von Silberbesteck. Wo hat man so was sonst? Dieses Hotel würde ich meinen Freunden empfehlen.

an sich ein schönes kleines Hotel mit gutem Frühstück. Allerdings hatte ich ein Zimmer im Souterrain, welches doch einen stark muffigen Geruch hatte. Das Zimmer war auf jeden Fall sauber, aber der Geruch war wie 10 Tage nicht mehr gelüftet. Da ich nur eine Nacht dort war, brachte "mein" Lüften nichts. Schade.

Sehr familiäres und aufmerksames Personal. Die Zimmer sind etwas verspielt aber nicht ungemütlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist ebenfalls gut.

BIG WARNING for smokers - big warning about Bernd Joop in Magdeburg:
I had an interesting travel along that part of Germany, wanted to stay in Magdeburg for a night. And I get shocked. That city is another Sin City in Germany. The taxi driver who was driving me from the trein station was telling me about the DDR, the high-end unemployment rate and all the problems of the poor people living there. And we faced a serious incident already when we tried to get fresh boiled eggs in a restaurant together. But this story is about Residenz Joop where I stayd for a night. Yes, I did smoke in the room having the windows open even it was cold. I did not see any ashtree, so used whatever glas for tooth brushing. Next morning I was an early bird to leave, as I am mostly very early standing up 6 am. 2 weeks later I received a letter from this Residence Joop that they claim a damage of 721 Euro because of my smoking in the room during my staying for one night. They seriously took into account that for this reasons they could not rent out the room for a couple of days and so on.
I really feel bad for people living in Magdeburg, but chasing high-profile tourists with 721 Euro heavy bills because of smoking cigarette does not help. They don't live in the real world anymore, they are left in somewhat DDR mentality or whatever. I really need to warn everybody not to spend your money with such strange people. And by the way, my first and legal living place is still Alkmaar, they really sent me their letter to Alkmaar maybe not even knowing that a lawyer chasing me in the Netherlands would cost them maybe more than 721 Euro before such a case comes to a durtch court. Das Hotel trägt seine 4 Sterne zu recht! Es ist nicht groß und das Frühstück nicht super umfangreich aber das ist schon alles, wenn man etwas zu nennen hätte. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, der Zustand der Einrichtung ist nicht nagelneu aber in sehr gutem Zustand, das Haus verfügt sogar über einen Aufzug und das oben erwähnte Frühstück ist frisch und ausreichend in der Auswahl und das Gebäude liegt in einem schönen Villenviertel fußläufig vom Zentrum. Was aber das wichtigste Merkmal ist: es ist ein Familienhotel und das merkt man. Die Liebe zum Detail und vor allem die Freundlichkeit. Ich habe jetzt bereits öfter dort übernachtet und nie gab es ein böses Wort und Sonderwünsche sind auf Nachfrage auch ohne Probleme möglich. Vollste Empfehlung!

We stayed 3 days in June 2013, two days more than planned because of the gracious services and convenient location. This has been the best stay of our two weeks in Germany.
