The bus ride from Freiburg was excellent, very easy to find and very cheap 2.50 euro.
After entering the hotel you will find a rather unpleasant strong fish smell, due to the sushi restaurant right below the rooms.
It is a Thai restaurant but the owners are Chinese. The Lady checking us in, was not very welcoming, maybe because we arrived a little late, 8 pm.
She said if we still want to eat, we have to hurry up! When seated at the table we asked for the Wi-Fi code, but she gave us the menu card and said: first order you food!
The handling of the hotel guest is very poor but the food is alright.
The bed is confortable, tv is very small, there is no coffee or tea in the rooms.
Breakfast is OK but again served very unfriendly, the elderly man basically threw the bread basket on our table.

Sushi Master is very traditional old style Japanese. Have ate at three of his restaurants over the years that I have visited the Freiburg area. I always seek him out.

We went here for our anniversary and I have to say it was the best Japanese I had around these waters. Sure it's an interesting setting, an old German restaurant with a terrace grown over with wine serving up delicious looking Thai and delicious tasting Japanese food. All the tuna is here - maguro, chutorro and torro - tempura is freaking great and so was everything else we had. Only thing that keeps me from being a regular is the price but I already can't wait to be back for some more of that goodness.

Man kann wählen zwischen der Karte vom Sushi-Meister oder der Karte des Hauses: alles ist frisch und köstlich! Die vielen Gäste, oft von weit her, wissen um die Qualität des Hauses.
Empfehlenswert: eine Reservierung. Sehr lecker: die Vorspeise des Hauses für 2 Personen, die Suppen, die Hauptgänge. Etwas Besonderes – Hochwertiges hat eben auch seinen Preis – „man gönnt sich ja sonst nichts!“
Heute waren wir zu zweit in der Villa Thai zum Abendessen – und begeistert! Freundlicher Service, köstliche Thailändische Spezialitäten!

Ich bin immer wieder begeistert! Familie Mac hat nun über viele Jahre beständig beste Qualität zu bieten und Villa Thai ist für mich der größte kulinarische Genuss im Umkreis Freiburg!
