Beergarden and restaurant in Downtown. Very popular in warmer weather.
Great beer, food not that good but definitely worth the price
Very relaxing brewery in the middle of Freiburg. Even better during the summer season when the biergarten is open
Didn't eat or drink here because they don't take credit cards (which is super weird). Interior is pretty cool though
It's a brew pub, 2 stories, beer garden, traditional food. It's on the pricey end, which is fair considering that it's at a great location. Good for drinking, food is okay, but the place doesn't stand out. The Radler is really good, the beer is decent.
The most delicious beer I've ever drank! Nice service.
Love this place. I come to Basel each year for Baselworld and I make a point of coming to this restaurant. Great schnitzel and the beer if delicious. I can't recommend this place enough.
Great place where drink a fantastic beer. You must not miss it if you visit Freiburg
The restaurant/brewery on one side of the street is basically a national monument in Freiburg. The huge copper vat rises from the basement to the ground level in the middle of the space and the bar encircles it. there is also upstairs seating which is like a loft with open space in the middle from which you can a birds eye view of the space below.
Friendly staff will pour you a delicious unfiltered beer for a fair price its not exactly cheap but it is worth the cost. For 15 bucks you can get a one liter bottle to take away which only cost 5 bucks to refill. These make great gifts. i managed to get one all the way to south africa without it bursting in my bag so you can travel with them, but i would take precautions (i always keep booze in a waterproof bag when flying, just in case)
on the opposite side of the charming cobbled street is the jewel in the feirling crown, its beautiful beer garden. This place comes alive when spring arrives. the ancient oak (i think oak, but im no botanist) trees have pruned short for century's and dinner sized leaves create a natural awning over the whole garden. There is a beer station in the garden so you dont have to wait very long for refills. I often stop for a radler on a hot day (1/2 draught 1/2 lemonade) - its a regional speciality and refreshes like nothing else, plus you can still go to work afterwards without crashing after an hour. All in all i would definitely recommend checking it out, however you can probably skip food at this joint, I havent tried everything but what i have tried was sub par compared to their beer, which is a pity but the bar is set pretty high in that regard. Rather line your stomach at schlappen round the corner.
Cosy place, we had good meat dishes and a nice pils.
Prices on the medium-to-low side (8€ average for a main course).
The copper boilers of the brewery really set the scene.
