Well maintained bicycles on offer for rent. Though the rent may be a bit expensive, definitely worth it if you want to explore Freiburg and the picturesque landscape around on short notice.
Vielen Dank!
Daumen hoch
Mit besten Grüßen
Alles in allem Okay
Very good quality bikes :)
I was directed to this shop via the tourism office in the old town portion of Freiburg. The options for renting were limited to a "city" bike and a "trekking" bike (with the hidden option of renting a mountain bike that they didn't tell me about). Bikes were sub-par compared with most of the bikes I see riding around Freiburg and the bike I had was extremely uncomfortable. I asked for a simple adjustment to the seat position and they replied that they could not do it because the "mechanic" wasn't there and apparently none of them knew how to use a hex key.
The bike was in no way a trekking bike as it was extremely heavy and had basically the worst riding position possible for long distances. The mountain bike would have probably been the better option but I doubt they knew enough about biking to tell me this and again, I didn't know they offered it.
The brake had started rubbing over the course of the ride in a very minor way and when I bring the bike back, they decide it is appropriate to charge me 5 euros for the time of the mechanic to repair the bike. If I had known they would do this, I would have simply fixed the problem myself by adjusting the damn brakes. Any good bike shop stands behind the quality of their bikes and does not simply pass on the cost of maintaining sub-par bicycles to the customer.
If you have the opportunity, check out the other bike rental shops and see if they can offer you higher quality bicycles rather than the crap at this place.
