Nice to visit. Spent a good 3 hours here, slowly understanding the history. Not really that big, 2-3 hours will cover it. Recommended to visit. (2017) 9.5EUR for adult
A museum by the Dornier Family. It displays old planes, helicopters, rockets, and even a car invented by the Dornier Family.
There is a nice souvenir shop and restaurants.Outside seating is available.
On 23.9.2017, the Landshut plane, a plane hijacked in 1977, is flown back from Brazil with the second largest cargo plane Antonov 124. The Landshut plane will be restored back to its former glory and displayed in the museum as a memorial.
Well documented and visually supported - O spent many hours reading and looking
A rather small but interesting aircraft collection. The visit can fill up to 3 hours at a slow pace or be finished within about half of that time.
Given the small number of aircraft standing outside, it is worth visiting even on a rainy day.
Several aircraft have ladders so one can climb up to cockpit level but my personal favorite was the Breguet 1150 Atlantic which had open interior and was accessible for the visitors.
The immediate vicinity of the Friedrichshafen airport makes it possible to enjoy the view of landing and departing aircraft while enjoying a cup of your favorite hot drink.
A must see for any aviation enthusiast if you happen to be in the area!
Fantastic, covering the history of the Dornier company, form the first planes to the space age!
Decent but not very big
Very intresting and got me informed how much Dornier (bott Cloud and Gmbd) have done.
Surprisingly nice museum. They did a really nice job making things available in both German and English. They had retired Dornier planes where you can actually go inside. I went when they were running a Star Trek exhibition which made it even nicer.
A fantastic place to visit if you're in Friedrichshafen. The exhibits are explained in great detail in both English and German. The staff were friendly and spoke to me in English after I confessed my German wasn't very good. I only wish I could have spent more time there!
Cool but it is quite small. If you are interested in aviation then it's a must.
Perfect . For people interesting in Airplanes
You should ask the old guide, about his wartime experience ;) Bam Bam Bam!!!
A really interesting museum with alot of technical history.
Airplane and space museum located right on the airport Friedrichshafen . There are shown the beginnings of the aircraft over the famous Zeppelins to modern satellite development . Today Dornier no longer built aircraft, but the brand still exists . On the outside grounds some aircraft can be admired from the inside at certain times.
