The cocktails were great and the food was delicious. Fine dining, and while not cheap, it's not crazy expensive (44 for 3 courses or 55 for 4 when I went). It's all vegetarian and is very vegan friendly, but even the two meat eaters in our group loved it. The entrance is down an alley behind the Westin, so it can be a little hard to find, but just turn right after the Westin and before the Opera and keep going. You'll know you're in the right spot by the big chandelier hanging outside and flashing off and on.
Fabulous vegetarian restaurant fitted out in a kind of modern industrial style, and hidden away behind a loading bay. Just getting there is an interesting experience. The taxi driver sort of knew where it was, and we were led through the kitchen of a neighbouring restaurant to get there.
The food was absolutely superb. Do not be put off by the vegetarian-only menu. Of course this quality and style is expensive, so don't forget your credit card.
Love this place. The fact that its vegetarian means I wouldn't normally make a point of going, but you never missed the meat. Its purposely hard to find being a former Techno Club, but turn right into the car park behind the Westin Grand Hotel and keep walking through the car park and alleyway until you see the chandelier hanging from the roof.
Once you're in there is a small, dark bar which you pass through. The restaurant its self is upstairs and is very white and industrial. Service was relaxed but very much on point. A great experience and one I would highly recommend.
A real taste experience! Beautifully crafted vegetarian dishes with alot of love and thought put into them. My cocktail was fantastic as well. The staff were all very nice except for a girl with short hair who was serving us at the beginning. She was borderline impolite and quite dismissive and rude when I asked about my (life threatening) food allergies. When the service matches the cost, as it was with the other servers, the cost is totally worth it. We will undoubtedly return, but will definitely hope not to have this same waitress again. It was the best meal I've ever had in Berlin, hands down!
What a great experience! The service was impeccable, friendly and helpful. The wines were perfectly paired to the dishes. My only complaint was that a couple of my courses weren't anything special. They had interesting ingredients, but the flavor wasn't impressive. That said, I'll definitely be back to try again!
Cool, edgy, little extravagant, high quality. Just vegetarian food, delicious. Difficult to find, back alley of the Western hotel. It's all about the experience
One-off venue and concept, where thankfully the food, service and experience live up to the promise in this 'cordon vert' vegetarian restaurant.
An 'underground' restaurant, hidden in an underground car park, between service entrances and wheelie bins, a door is hinted at by an incongruous chandelier. A buzzy, dark bar is the anteroom to a bigger, open, industrial dining room that incorporate both intimate tables for couples and groups (we were 8).
Staff were exception - friendly, knowledgable and relaxed.
The menu is limited - 4-5 options for starter and main - but very imaginative and appealing. Presentation wows and the flavours were a real treat. You do not miss meat at all, so don't think the appeal is just for vegetarians.
Portions are medium. Not so small that it's all-concept-no-food, yet not large and stodgy. The three course is spot on, or there's an interesting four course set meal (2 starters, a main, a desert). Cost is c €55 for the three course.
Wine list was well formed, good range of prices and covered Germany and France pretty well.
There's no photography allowed but I asked permission for the food. For the film itself you'll just have to visit ;)
Excellent evening, a real treat and I hope to visit again next time I'm in Berlin.
Fine dining without meat, what's not to love. It was so good I didn't mind that I was paying 20euros for a plate made up of the bit of cauliflower I normally through away!
Cocktails at the bar before hand is a must, just ask for you favourite no need for a menu
High expectations of a place will always be difficult to justify. But we enjoyed every element of the experience.
Our waitress was super friendly and knowledgable and the food and drink was of a very high standard.
For those who like the extra effort of a place like this you will really enjoy.
Lovely techno tunes playing all night from custom made speaker system.
Very impressive, very different, very Berlin.
I enjoyed my first experience at Cookies Cream. The location and design concept is very cool. Also the service was excellent. Although this is mostly a vegetarian restaurant, I ordered vegan. My other two friends that joined me: one vegan one vegetarian. Myself and the other vegan were not impressed by the food. The vegetarian was raving about the food. So maybe more and better vegan options? There are so many vegans and people who are allergic to dairy to it would benefit all. I think that would be a positive way to make more people happy. At this stage I would recommend Lucky Leek over Cookies Cream for a vegan.
