I was told I had to go there and try the blackforrest cake (swartzwalder kirchtorte). Probably the best blackforrest cake I've ever had. So light, so flavorful, perfection. Nothing like what they call blackforrest cake in the states. Plus the staff was so friendly and put up with my really bad german. Can't wait to go back and try some other treats they have.

First, Cafe Luitpold is Michelin recommended, ergo, you know you are going to be getting some good food but it wound be cheap. Second, you know the wait staff will be attentive and helpful. We were tired after a day that started with liters of beer for breakfast at a lock Brauhaus with lots of heavy meat dishes. So for dinner, we sought out Cafe Luitpold for a shared dinner. They had just the items we were looking for - their Luitpold Spritz was very refreshing, the foo was seared )as we like it), the salad (shared) was very clean and refreshing and well plated and the main was spaghetti w/ black truffles (actually sliced all over the pasta) (shared). This clearly left us with room so we each had a cake for dessert, both wonderful. So we have been here before and would return for a lite meal or just dessert and coffee. The service was excellent.

This is one of the best cafes in Munich. We ordered coffee and tea with some sweets. I found a hair in the cheese cake and they apologize immediately and change it. The service was nice even it seems they are under employed.

Great place for breakfast. We went there for the cakes which look amazing. We decided to stay for breakfast which was great value for money and high quality. The service was great too and acomodating to non-german speakers. Will go back the next time we are in Munich, eapecially to taste the amazing cakes and desserts!

Great place that still attracts the crowd. Have been coming here since I was a child and played endlessly in the palm garden. Try to sit here if you visit. Service is exemplary. But very expensive and the crowd have an air of snobbery about them. Go for yourself and enjoy.

Pretty bad experience for the second time now - order of eggs and bacon took a whooping 30 minutes. food was good. When the bill came they did not take credit or debit card as their systems were down. Something to indicate from the beginning in order to avoid the problem that somenone has no cash at hand as was the case with me. The waiter was extremely impolite, one cannot expect a restaurant to take credit cards (??!!) and wanted to copy my passport etc. He then refused to give me his name so i can speak to a manager. Supposedly there was also no manager on site. In any case very disappointed to be treated rudely wen their systems dont work.
