I was at the hotel for a birthday breakfast brunch, and was very happy about the service and the food. The staff was very friendly, and the buffet had several delicious dishes.

Excellent location and modern rooms. Restaurant is accessible only by leaving the hotel, which isn't convenient on rainy days.

This review is not for the hotel but the restaurant:

The restaurant is part of the Best Western Hotel up the hill of Heidenheim just next to the castle. From almost any table in the restaurant you'll have a stunning view over the city and the castle.

The menu offers a handful of mostly Swabian dishes. Everything tastes OK but is certainly nothing special. The prices are also rather high and are not justified considering the quality of the food.

If you are staying in the hotel and feel too tired going anywhere else, it's no mistake to try out this restaurant - just don't come with too high expectations.

Service is pretty poor and looks constantly overworked and stressed out even when the restaurant is half empty. You have to wait a while until they will give you their attention.

Overall this place has great potential but they really need to work both on the quality of their food and service.
