Nice, clean room. Friendly reception. Right in front of the train station, 5-10 min walk from the city centre. Good breakfast in the nice rooftop room with view on the mountains.

The staff were fantastically helpful and breakfast was brilliant - but I'm afraid there was a serious problem with midgies / mosquitos / some kind of blood seeking critter in the room (I fear in part due to the window being left open before our arrival) leaving me with over 70 painful, progressively more irritating bites on one leg alone. Unfortunately this has seriously affected my holiday after staying here (driving round Europe) and only now, 10 days later - can I resist the irritation. An unfortunate hangover from an otherwise pleasant stay.

Great hotel with an amazing breakfast spread. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Don't come too late though, their parking garage fills up quickly.

Our stay at the Avalon Hotel was excellent. We had a great room, with outstanding view. The breakfast was very good, many choices, all fresh food. I would certainly stay at the Avalon Hotel in the future.

The hotel room was clean and had everything you'd expect. Nothing special, but not bad either. No fridge in the rooms. We had a little balcony which was nice. The staff were helpful enough. The outstanding part of the stay was the breakfast buffet which was included in the room price, and had a fantastic selection - from cereals, eggs, toast, cured meats and a fantastic selection of cheeses, juices, coffee, tea, fruit (whole and a fruit salad), three different types of yoghurts all served with a stunning view of the mountains. Given all of the hotels in the area are a similar price, worth staying here just for that! The lady was even kind enough to get some really tasty gluten free bread for my poor coeliac stomach!
