some interesting exhibits but largely missing explanatory text. As in the case of the Pergamon museum, it is unacceptable for a world class museum to only provide accompanying information in german.

There are some stars in the collection, but overall - not super impressive. Take an audio guide to understand more. If you don't have a lot of time - you can skip this museum and visit Pergamon

Beware that you can't bring a coat or a purse in with you. Might be no big deal to some, but as tourists with cameras and some other items I didn't want lost, I had to stuff my pockets.

Tipo mini Musée D'Orsay com pinturas impressionistas. O prédio e mais duas obras já valem. Uma é do Arnold Böcklin, chamada Toteninsel (ilha dos mortos) e a outra é "a usina de aço" de Adolph Menzel.

Every other room on the second floor has terrible lighting! Patches of reflected light make it hard to enjoy a good collection.
