The first thing that struck us about this hotel was how incredibly open and welcoming the ladies at the front desk were—they really made us feel excited about our stay and that we were well taken care of! Breakfast was jaw-dropping (even by German hotel standards, not just deprived American ones) and the people working the breakfast provided excellent service. The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be well-connected to the old town and transportation hubs, plus they have a gorgeous view of the mountains. Their sauna/steam room area is also a must after a long day of hiking!

My favorite hotel in Berchtesgaden! My single room was huge and very clean and comfortable! The free breakfast was fantastic as well! I found myself looking forward to it every night. At first I had only booked a room for one night but the place was so great I asked if I could stay another two nights (which wasn't a problem). The restaurant was great and the outdoor seating on their patio was as well! The view was phenomenal! Absolutely wonderful! I tried their cream of mushroom soup and for 3.5 euros it was a STEAL! It was filled with morel and chanterelle mushrooms (which happen to be my two favorite mushrooms)! Try it!!! If you like mushrooms you will NOT be disappointed! I would absolutely stay here again and do hope to do so again in the near future!!

I usually review places within 12 hours of experiencing meals and sleep. However I held off on this as I could not make up my mind.
Firstly, the staff are great (in certain areas like reception) and having travelled alot around Germany, I know that Germans can, at first, appear cold. However, the staff at breakfast were quite rude, dismissive and unhelpful.
Secondly, the bed is very clean and comfortable. The duvets are not very wide tho, so my feet stuck out more than I'd like. The BIGGEST problem is the construction noise. It started at 7am and went through all day. Having first been woke up at 6am by the garbage truck. I'd love to have slept with the windows closed, but the room was too warm. End result, a poor night's sleep.
The restaurant is very decadent and the food very good. I can recommend this. Not cheap, but good, large meals.
Breakfast is a limited affair, but enough to satisfy. However, there's an unclear policy on seating. I.E do you seat or be seated. We eventually believe you just find your own table as the staff are too busy to greet you at the door.response / report this review -

The best food I've ever had!! Burger and steaks are delicious. Small burger with 400g roastbeef - 11,90€?! Prices are more the best!! Personal is professional and friendly! 😊 Recommend you to visit this restaurant and hotel!!

Great place to stay, be sure to ask for a room on an upper floor with a view of the mountains. We arrived too late in the day. Breakfast is included we ate both dinners here and the food was wonderful. They will give you a guest card that gives you free bus travel and discounts to the attractions. Just up hill from the train and bus station.

Absolutely beautiful location right in the mountains, with a gorgeous view. On a roadtrip, we were last minute guests and we're offered the beautiful suite they had for a lovely price, and we're shocked by how beautiful the room was. The service was excellent (Half German/Bavarian native speakers, and Half English only speaking got along fine with everything!), and the breakfast selection in the morning was great as well. Whenever I come back to Europe, I'll make it a goal of mine to stay with this hotel again.
