Jednolodní gotický chrám z 12. století je skutečně impozantní, méně šťastná už je jedna z nejfrekventovanějších dopravních tepen města v těsném sousedství, vím, někudy se jezdit musí Na druhou stranu je dnešní silnice jen moderní pokračování důležitých starých měšťanských stezek, takže stavba musela působit velmi reprezentativně už ve středověku. V průběhu historie měnila stavba svůj účel - jednou byl vojenským skladištěm, poté třeba součástí trestnice.
Je pozůstatkem osady Zderaz, která zde stála dávno před vznikem Nového Města pražského. Stával stejně jako i celé jeho okolí na Břežské skále, která místy dosahovala až 20 m. Skála se táhla až k Vltavě, ale při velké pražské asanaci kolem roku 1900 byla spolu s okolní zástavbou bohužel odstraněna.

Старинный католический костёл,к сожалению,все время закрыт.Находиться в квартале от Танцующего Дома и практически напротив православного храма.
