Founded in 1993, the Globe Bookstore and Café is Prague’s first and best English language bookstore with a lively and trendy café that offers delicious coffee, cocktails and some of Prague’s best home cooking with great burgers, salads, pastas and other favorites and a full American brunch menu on the weekends. Conveniently located in a beautiful 120 year-old historic building in the heart of Prague with nine meter vaulted ceilings, the Globe Bookstore is expat Prague’s literary epicenter that provides a unique meeting place for artists, writers, students and travelers. The café also regularly hosts literary readings, movies, live music and other special and top sporting events. The bookstore offers a wide selection of approximately 10,000 hand-picked quality titles that will impress even the most learned reader and the Globe also displays and sells art from some of the region’s leading artists. The Globe is a place where people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities come to meet, browse, read, surf the internet, have engaging discussions or just escape the daily grind and relax. The Bookstore

The Globe Bookstore is the city’s premier destination for book lovers of all ages, tastes and nationalities to come to browse, read and discover. The Globe proudly offers an eclectic selection of approximately 10,000 quality English language hand-picked titles from all genres that will impress even the most learned reader. New and used books, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, biography, history, philosophy, spirituality, music, and art books are only some of the sections we have on offer. We also boast the largest collection of English language children books in Prague, including many of your childhood favorites and more contemporary bestsellers.

The Globe staff are open, well-read and always friendly and would be happy to help you find a specific title you are looking for or to suggest something special that you may not have heard of. If we don’t have the title that you are looking for, we would be happy to special order it for you. We are also proud founders and hosts to Prague’s first English language book club, the Globe Reading Group, which meets every two weeks to discuss and analyze a selection that is chosen by the members. The Cafe

The Globe Café provides a comfortable, beautiful and unique meeting place in the center of Prague for artists, writers, students, professionals and travelers to enjoy top quality locally roasted coffee, a broad range of tasty food, and drinks and cocktails of all kinds. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner service daily and on the weekend’s we have one of Prague’s longing running and best American Brunch menus. The café is also internet friendly and showcases art exhibitions from some of the regions leading artists and is set in a beautiful 120 year-old historic building in the heart of Prague with nine meter vaulted ceilings. We have an active events calendar and regularly host movies, live music, literary readings, sports and other special events (click here to see our Events Calendar). Our menu is American influenced and provides our customers with a broad range of options, including many of their “comfort food” favorites, such as the best burgers and buffalo wings that you will find in the Czech Republic, while also introducing other exciting cosmopolitan and vegetarian dishes from around the world and we make all of our desserts in-house from scratch. During the summer, we have a large patio for our customers to enjoy. The Café is also available for private parties and corporate events.
