Fantastic zoo. Very impressed. There is work going on at the moment as they renovate key public areas.
The zoo is big and features some great areas and exhibitions. The animals can be seen up close even though the areas are big. There are lots of things to see and do especially for kids. Today was the start of the halloween festivities so pumpkin carving was available for all visitors. The result of which was a fantastically lit up zoo in the evening by hundreds upon hundreds scarey candle lit pumpkins.
They make an effort here which can be seen as you walk around. The zoo was quiet today and this really made for a pleasant visit.response / report this review -

The best zoo in eastern Europe. All the animals are from Africa and the environment and conducive and enough space for the animals. #Love

Very mixed feelings. It's a nice place to take a young child. There's lots for them to see and do, and you can literally buy junk food every 100m.
Scratch the surface though and it's not so great. There are some nice large safari areas but they don't seem to be used very well. Two hippos in a huge lovely enclosure yet just before there's half a dozen rhinos in a tiny enclosure.
Comparing it to Whipsnade or London zoo, the animals don't look happy or healthy - I won't be going back.response / report this review -

It is very nice zoo. There is a huge kids playground right after the main entrance. My son (5y) spent there almost a hour.😂

We enjoyed the safari with our car and it was an amazing experience. The visit of the ZOO is a must a very nice enviroment, we loved the architecture very much.

This is our favorite zoo. I've been going there since I was a kid. Now I take my kids several times a year. It can be a bit overcrowded though.
