The main goal of Water & Health Lab is the study of health risk associated with chronic exposures to environmental chemicals with particular focus on the application of novel exposure assessment methodologies.
The Water and Health Lab works on:
- Developing and applying novel human
biomonitoring and metabolomics protocols
- Incorporating agnostic, systematic and high throughput approaches towards a refined disease etiology
- Conducting personal exposure assessment as well as epidemiologic studies for the assessment of the human exposome
Recent projects of the laboratory focus on delineating human exposures to chemicals, such as disinfection by-products and plasticizers that have been linked with disrupting the hormonal homeostasis during critical windows of susceptibility.
