Some very interesting exhibitions. Especially the Impreesionists
A must when you visit Nicosia.
A great modern architecture building, with a small collection of paintings.
Small but complete if you want to learn about greek and cypriot painting.
Poor service and unscrupulous pricing. I purchased a ticket for 5 euros and was presented with a basic map of the exhibits which tells nothing about the works. Then on entering the first gallery I notice cues for audio guide so I immediately returned to the ticket desk to obtain an audio guide as the map leaflet mentions it "can be included in the cost of your ticket". When I pointed this out the woman selling tickets told me I had to pay an extra 3 euros because I had not asked for it when I bought the ticket. It was literally a few minutes later and she had not made me aware of the option of the audio guide on buying the ticket. She explained this was the galleries policy which I found ridiculous and refused to take the upsell.
I also found the security staff on the 3rd floor intrusive. They literally followed me around from room to room constantly watching as if I might make off with a painting. The whole experience was uncomfortable and spoiled my enjoyment of the art.
Very cheap admission fee. When we went there, there was an Aphrodite expedition which was very interesting. The expedition showcased depictions of Aphrodite all over the word, and the goddess's history. There are also many others art showcases such as the Invasion Of Cyprus, French Culture and Traditions etc. The facilities were clean and tidy and the staff were keen to help us.
A great collection. The art gallery has a Cypriot a Greek and a French collection, all very good. At times it also has periodic exchibitions. There is a cafe and a shop with the basics.
It is a very pleasant visit. It's easy to go through the whole place at once but the entrance fee also allows you more visits. A must visit in Nicosia.
At the moment the Paradox Aphrodite experience is excellent!
Very good curation. Except from their most prized possesion the "O kosmos tis Kiprou" that I believe they could have tried to make it as the artist intended to display it.
A well designed gallery, with unique examples of varied art styles.
Excellent gallery , Photography section could be improved .
Beautiful space, superb collection, lovely staff and not too busy so you can really take in the art
This museum is superb, a definite must-see in Nicosia. The other museums can be a bit old-fashioned but this one is amazing! The building is beautifully lit and it's very clear where you have to go, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The collections are just perfect - not too much, and only the highlights. Great interpretive materials available. Also a tiny shop with some nice post-cards. Definitely go here!
Mainly modern paintings. Fewer contemporary pieces of art. The building is quite nice.
Very interesting!
Excellent collection!
The A. G. Leventis Art Gallery will be opening in 2014. The building will finish by the end of 2013. Many famous artists will be featured from the Paris, Greek and Cyprus Collections.
