St. Elisabeth Hospital Curacao (SEHOS)

On December 3, 1855 the first nursing home of the St. Elisabeth Hospital was opened in a house on the Yzerstraat 68 in Otrobanda. At this location people on Curaçao who were sick and did not belong to the upper middle class, were nursed by the sisters of the Congregation "Alles voor Allen" from Breda, the Netherlands.

The St. Elisabeth Hospital (SEHOS) is a general hospital that works primarily to serve the community on Curaçao, but also provides care to patients of the other islands and the wider region.

Providing high quality of care is our number one priority.

Our hospital is a center for basic and clinical care, carrying out diagnostic research and provides specialist medical care. The patient is central for us.

Education and scientific research are an important part of our work. We operate from the Roman Catholic beliefs.
